Yes, this is another post in your feed related to the Budget announcement, but with an optimistic twist for Apprenticeships.
Whilst there are nuances within eligibility criteria, we shouldn't overlook/forget that an apprentice under 25 and paid less than £967 per week is eligible for 0% employer NIC.
This has been a benefit to employers for many years and widely known, but this is an opportunity for ITP's/FE providers to shine a light on this, and to revisit the subject of employing apprentices under 25 years old with renewed focus and underpinned by an obvious employer incentive.
For employers who are having to manage and plan for the increased costs, an apprentice has always been a viable and effective route to support your organisational growth, but now even more so.
I absolutely acknowledge that the budget will increase the cost of running an ITP due to increased operations costs, rigid margins, and apprenticeship funding bands, but I can also see that the opportunity for increased employer interest and national growth in apprenticeship starts is in front of us.
