Melissa Helbert-Pogoloff, PE, PTOE, IMSA Level II, a transportation engineer in our Greenville, South Carolina office, first joined us as an intern before stepping into a full-time role. Melissa has grown her career through developing new software skills, finding innovative solutions for clients, and helping open a new office. When she’s not working on signal timing projects from Beaufort to Greenville, Melissa’s looking for the next concert to attend—her average sits at 20-25 concerts each year! #KimleyHorn #EmployeeSpotlight #KimleyHornCareers #Transportation

I highly recommend STEM majors applying for the Colorado Science and Engineering Policy Fellowship. This fellowship was one of the most important experiences of my education. #stem #scienceandtechnology #policychange #engineering
2024 Application Deadline Approaching! The last day to apply for the 2024 fellowship class is March 4th! For the past six years, the Colorado Science and Engineering Policy Fellowship has given talented STEM students policy-making experience while broadening their understanding of the connection between STEM disciplines and lawmaking. We are looking to welcome another group of incredible fellows to the Capitol this coming summer! Read what one of last year's Fellows had to say about the fellowship: "The Fellowship helped me contextualize the technical college education I'm pursuing and gave me a lot of hope in state government. I really enjoyed learning from a wide range of people working passionately to improve the lives of Coloradans, which also gave me a better idea of possible career paths that lie at the intersection of science and policy. I had such a great experience this summer and can't recommend it enough!" - Megan Finnigan, Engineering Physics and Mechanical Engineering, CU Boulder https://lnkd.in/dzzbWgdF

…such a substantive conversation today with TWC President Kimberly Churches, aimed at amplifying the connection and collaboration between Miami Dade College (MDC) and The Washington Center (TWC). For over a decade, The Honors College at Miami Dade College students and other scholars, with the mentorship of our world class professors, have travelled to the Capitol to participate in the immersive Inside Washington convening of engaged learners, faculty, and public/private sector officials. We’re laser focused on expanding opportunities for MDC students to engage first hand in peer interactions, internships, and other career-connected environments. #BeMDC #StudentsFirst #studentsuccess #careerconnections #publicpolicy

What a way to begin the new year! Two weeks ago, we kicked off the 2024 strategic planning for Michigan Economic Development Corporation’s The Michigander Scholars program at Michigan Central in Detroit. Thanks to Victoria Waters of University of Michigan’s Mcity, James Hill of Michigan Technological University, Garth Motschenbacher, SPHR of Michigan State University, Dale Pilger and Doug Bourassa of Kettering University, and Gozde Tutuncuoglu of Wayne State University for their insight, experience, and wisdom as we embark on year 2 of the program. Thanks also to my MEDC Talent Solutions team members for helping to ensure our program and projects have the biggest impact possible by connecting our partner organizations and resources to the program: Crystal Ackerman, Joseph Kaczmarek, MBA, Chelsey Averill, and, taking the photo, Beth Swanson. The Michigander Scholars program is one of the MEDC Talent Solutions’ initiatives to help build the tech talent pipeline for Michigan’s key focus industries and employers. Students at Kettering University, Michigan State University, University of Michigan (Ann Arbor, Dearborn and Flint), Michigan Technological University, and Wayne State University who are interested in engineering and software development and considering a career in the #EVandMobility or #semiconductor industries, can apply to become a Michigander Scholar at their institution. As a Scholar, students are eligible for internship and full-time employment #scholarships (up to $10k!) with targeted Michigan employers in those industries. #techpipeline #Michiganjobs #MichiganderScholars #engineeringjobs #softwaredevelopmentjobs #2024success #michiganhighereducation #publicprivatepartnerships #internships
