We recently gathered at the DeepTech Alliance Clean Energy Summit in Barcelona to discuss how radical innovations can drive the future of clean energy. Enrico Deluchi, Chairman of DeepTech Alliance, reflected on the forming of the Alliance and the importance of international collaboration in transforming global challenges into growth opportunities.   🔹 The Vision: Radical innovations and international collaboration is badly needed to tackle global challenges such as carbon emissions reduction and supply chain transformations. For this reason DTU Science Park and The Danish Industry Foundation initiated DeepTech Alliance in 2018 to join forces with other startup ecosystem hubs across Europe to connect the most promising European Deep Tech startups with business partners needed to get their solutions to market and scale internationally 🔹 Achievements: Since 2021, we have assessed over 6,500 ventures, conducted six Business Creation Programs, and identified 220+ business opportunities. Our efforts have enabled successful collaborations like TechEnergy Ventures' investment in Luminescent and Bosch's partnership with IPercept. 🔹 The Challenge: Despite Europe's world-class scientific research, much of our intellectual property remains commercially inactive. By fostering cross-border collaborations, we aim to bring Europe to the forefront of global innovation. 🔹 Looking Forward: With 10 member countries and a goal to reach 20 by 2026, the DeepTech Alliance is growing. We are excited to welcome Beta-i • collaborative innovation from Portugal as our 11th member and look forward to upcoming events in Munich, Oslo, and Paris.   Enrico’s closing thoughts resonate deeply: "Transforming problems into opportunities requires more collaboration, innovation, and goodwill. As regulars at the Hello Tomorrow Summit, we’ve come to expect nothing less than brilliance, but last week’s event that transformed Paris into a buzzing hive of the world's foremost deep tech luminaries, founders, investors, and industrialists truly exceeded expectations. 🔥 Within this week we: - Benjamin Tincq led a panel on critical minerals with Julia Davourie(Convergent Ventures), Eric Dusseux (Breakthrough Energy Ventures), and Lilian Schwich (cylib) - Hosted amazing breakfast event with over 100 attendees in collaboration with Kiko Ventures - Had a great time attending side events from Contrarian Ventures daphni Extantia Toyota Ventures Fifty Years DCVC Climate Salad Norrsken VC EQT Ventures Vsquared Ventures TOMORROW DeepTechXL Positron Ventures - Enjoyed pitches from tozero Robeauté Jurata Thin Film and were delighted to see the amazing women leading those hard tech companies! - The deeptech ecosystem still has a long way to go - from strenghtening collaboration between startups with large industrials, to having more capital to deploy for #FOAK, to ensuring the right practical advices for scientist-founders at the early stages. But building Marble, and seeing our portfolio companies in action - pitching, hiring and fundraising - was the best testament of what we have been doing…and ought to do more. We’re just getting started, let’s build more radical climate deeptech ventures together! In this new phase, we foresee that the dynamics between investors and founders will become more #balanced, with a higher frequency of flat rounds and down rounds, an increasing reliance on Buy & Build strategies, and the growing use of #venturedebt, SAFE, SFP, and other quasi-equity instruments.
