I paused after reading this, the 3rd entry from Jeff Pope's “Ten Things I Think I’ve Learned.” I personally have spent most of my Insights career at large companies, and of course I started small (Jeff and Judy’s CRI). To me the leadership and culture—direct and at the top levels—is more important than the size of the company. I love the global reach, R&D power, breadth of offers, etc. that I find at large company Ipsos. But I see Jeff’s point, and am interested in how others see the topic. ************************* For me, it’s been easier to find what I wanted in small companies. I’ve worked for two of the largest organizations in the world (KPMG Peat Marwick and Pillsbury) and two small firms (CRI and Elrick & Lavidge, my first job). Experience in the big companies was valuable, but it wasn’t where I wanted to invest my life. I like life in a small company where you can… * Know everyone’s name * Understand the whole business * Know and see how your contribution makes a difference And working with large, well known clients give us the best of both worlds: we have impact on highly visible products and services, but we get to work within a small company environment.

"A skills-based organization is an organization that moves from a view of static, linear jobs and careers to one that looks at dynamic skills and dynamic work as the nature of both careers and the way that work is organized and managed.” Everyone’s talking about skills-based organizations. But what does the term actually mean? Our own Jeff Schwartz joined LACE Partners and Chris Howard to answer that very question. Check out the link in the comments to catch their full conversation👇

G O D • A C C E R L A T E S • T I M E As part of my YPO (Young Presidents Organisation) Forum on May 12th, 2021, I set ambitious goals that would focus on creating an enduring company. I am still on cloud nine, knowing the Atlanta Business Chronicle has recognized us as one of their 2024 Pacesetters. This achievement marks us as one of Atlanta's Top 100 Fastest Growing Privately Owned Companies, a testament to our team's dedication, effort, and hard work. Looking back, I outlined five key goals to accomplish by 2025. Achieving this recognition is a step closer to fulfilling these aspirations and even more evidence that God has our back on this journey: - Become one of the Best Places to Work. - Become one of the Healthiest Places to Work. - Become one of the Fastest Growing Companies in Atlanta. - Become one of the Fastest Growing Companies in the Inc. 500. - 50 by 50. Onwards and upwards! #Milestone #Growth #Recognition #BusinessSuccess #GodFavor

Last week, I had the privilege of participating in a panel discussion alongside Maria Triani, RICP® and Brandon M. Kohnen, moderated by Eugene Lutz. We were speaking in front of Partners across our organization regarding best practices for navigating and growing your career within an architecture that allows complete control. Here are two key points that drove our conversation: 1. Crystallize your “Why”: Understanding your purpose is crucial for success. Personally, my family and community are my driving forces. In action that means control of my time, control of my career growth, and the ability to create an impact have to be magnified to the greatest extent possible. Aligning your career with your values leads to overcoming challenges with ease and making consistent progress. If you're unsure of your "Why," take the time to discover it along with the attributes that bring it to life—it's a game-changer! 2. Build relationships: Networking with established leaders opens doors for collaboration and growth. At our office, we emphasize connecting new advisors with seasoned professionals to tap into valuable knowledge. Learning from those who have succeeded before you sets the stage for your own success. Ultimately, surrounding yourself with the right people makes the journey more enjoyable and more fun.
