Fund More Local Peacebuilding Efforts Remove barriers and proactively channel resources- financial and material to local peacebuilders working in communities closest to conflict. Why? •Investing in local peacebuilding efforts fosters greater community ownership and participation in peacebuilding processes. How? •Streamline the funding process by reducing bureaucratic and language hurdles, and offer flexible, unrestricted funding for local civil society for the long term. •Encourage and support sustainable grassroots grant making initiatives. These initiatives should be self-sustaining and based on indigenous and local solutions. •Fund local peacebuilders. Allowing for more equitable resource allocation mechanisms that ensure adequate, pressure-free space and time is given to local peacebuilding initiatives. #PEACESTARTSHERE

🧡 Our award-winning ‘MyEnds’ programme brings local people and community groups together to deliver meaningful change where they live and work. 💡With £14.5m investment from Sadiq Khan, the Mayor of London, we're expanding our hyper-local, neighbourhood-focused approach, right across London. That means 11 areas affected by high levels of violence will have community-led networks that will deliver prevention and diversionary work. It will support communities with the tools and resources needed to prevent violence before it occurs. 🙌 For the first time, we'll also be taking this hyper-local approach to all areas of the capital. Our funding will support 21 local authorities to take the principles of MyEnds, and work with community and grassroots organisations on a neighbourhood-focused approach to tackling violence. 📈 Evidence shows that a community-led approach, by those who know their area and its challenges best, is the most effective way to prevent violence. 🤝 When we work together, we can prevent and reduce violence. ➡️ Find out more: https://bit.ly/4by4RR4

indeed communities have been at the fore front responding to HIV & AIDS Prevention, treatment, care and support. when it comes to OVC programming, communities have ensured effective Nurturing Care provided for the children left orphans, sacrificing time, resources and providing for their family based care and support. thus enhancing reintegration within the wider societies. How has your communities responded to HIV&AIDS Treatment, care and support? What support mechanisms have been put in place to ensure that children orphaned by HIV&AIDS receives maximum support? What are the current gaps in OVC Programming in your communities? These are some of the thoughts that we may need to reflect on to ensure an effective response. We all have responsibilities for an effective response.
Communities are the everyday heroes of the AIDS response! #WorldAIDSDay is not only a moment to honor the leadership of community. It's a call to action, to govts, to fully support communities’ life-saving work and remove the barriers standing in their way. Ahead of #WAD2023, sharing my call to action: Let communities lead!
