Why Are Extracurricular Activities Important? Extracurricular activities are the fun things kids do outside of school. Like playing sports, learning music, or joining clubs. But they aren’t just fun—they help children grow in many ways. When kids do activities like these, they learn to work with others, stay focused, and get better at solving problems. It helps them feel more confident too. And these skills are useful for everything, even for their future jobs! Let’s help children find what they love and grow stronger through these activities. 👉 Want your child to explore new activities? Enroll in our program today!

A QUESTION I GET ASKED QUITE A LOT: Why did I give up a good job at a world-leading sports academy to start Performance Pathways? As my role at the academy grew, I was increasingly being asked by teachers around the world where they could find resources and lesson plans for Athletics. I explored the platforms they were using...TES was terrible, with resources created on PowerPoint and the wrong technical points. YouTube was even worse, with content created for high performance athletes or teachers trying to share their ideas but with no real experience. So I created BROCKMAN ATHLETICS LIMITED to fill the void and suddenly found myself delivering workshops and providing my curriculum to schools all around the world. In a little over a year, my resources on TES have been download over 6000 times and the YouTube channel is fast approaching 500,000 views! The resources and education were clearly needed, but what I discovered throughout the journey was that most other sports were the same. Their resources are targeted at the elite or new beginners, with a huge gap in the developmental phase that most of us work in. This is where Performance Pathways was born... I aimed to create one platform to provide lesson plans, resources, and education all one place. We've pulled together a team of experts who all have experience at international level, but also understand the developmental pathways and what it's like to work within education. I'm so proud to see the platform growing week on week, with schools from 25 countries already using the resources! We'd love to have you as part of our fast growing community... Join us next week for a tour of the platform: https://lnkd.in/dharJmFj

Have you hosted a "Lab Olympics"? 🏅 It's a great way to make the lab part of your classroom fun and approachable! To celebrate the Olympics finishing up and do some team-building to kick off the academic year, labs around the world are hosting their own versions of a “Lab Olympics”. 👩🔬 The basic concept is to create events out of mundane tasks common in your lab or classroom, either timed or for accuracy. Just make sure to keep it safe and avoid being wasteful of supplies. To get you started, I’ve collected my favorite ideas from Reddit below: 🥇 Dry Weighing Accuracy: Without a scale, contestants must estimate 1 gram of a commonly used powder, scored for accuracy. 🥇 PPE Relay: Teams put on and take off full Personal Protective Equipment as quickly as possible, in a relay format. Great practice for a real emergency! 🥇 Parafilm Stretching: Contestants stretch a pre-measured section of Parafilm, judged on length or surface area without breaking 🥇 Liquid Measuring Accuracy: Using an unlabeled beaker, participants measure a specified volume of water, scored for accuracy or speed. 🥇 Laser Pointer Maze: Using a Laser Blox or fixed pointer, lay out several lenses or mirrors on a table to bend the laser toward a target. Turn it on to see how close you are! Have you done this yet? What are your students' favorite events?

🚫 No July Learning Call due to the long weekend🚫…. but let's maintain our momentum, building on last month's learning on the power of consistency… Inspired by the T20 Cricket World Cup Final, where I couldn’t help but focus on the learnings, here are my top 10 lessons on self-leadership, teamwork, perseverance, humility, resilience, respect, strategy & planning, as gleaned from the game and post-match insights over the weekend! 1. Preparation Pays Off: The winning captain's emphasis on years of preparation and hard work rings true in life—consistency is key to achieving dreams. 🏋️♂️ 2. Never Give Up: Team India's resilience defending 30 in 30 showcases the power of perseverance—it's never over until it's over! 🏆 3. Belief in Team: Public support from the captain and coach for Kohli (who was going through a rough patch!) before the big event—inspiring your team can boost morale and performance! 🌈 4. Credit to Team: The captain crediting his team after victory—a hallmark of successful leadership. 🤝 5. Grit, Excellence, and Humility: Kohli's performance under pressure on a Big Day and his humble demeanor in the interview – must have traits for high achievers 🙏 6. Overcoming Challenges: Hardik Pandya’s performance after facing brutal criticism and personal challenges shows the power of determination 💪 7. Presence of Mind: Surya's crucial catch underscores the importance of readiness and focus in critical moments. 🧠 8. Respect Team Decisions: Bench players celebrating passionately show respect for team unity and management decisions—team goals prevail! 👏 9. Show Emotions: Athletes' tears remind us of the power in displaying emotion—it's OK to be human and authentic. 😢 10. Family Matters: Kohli's post-victory video call with family in the ground and Rohit's family celebration reflect balancing personal and professional life. ❤️ As someone who was born & raised in India (where cricket is more like a religion!) and has grown personally and professionally in the USA (and still growing!), witnessing India win the title and the USA advance to the Super 8 was incredibly rewarding. It was a true testament to the power of hard work and dedication! Let’s apply these lessons to our journey, be it personal, professional or leadership growth!! 🏃♂️🚀 Wishing you all a Happy 4th in advance!

Imagine the end of the school year - a time of celebration, of moving up a grade and excitement about summer plans. From reading, to swimming, to spending time with friends, kids need resources to keep learning and playing when school school is out. For many, the end of the school year means the end of access to books. Without the school library, or access to books at home, young readers can't read. Support Books Are Wings programs, combat the “Summer Slide” and help make reading a key part of every child's summer experience! https://bit.ly/3XfopGi
