Right now, 60,000 ventriculostomies are performed each year in the US using archaic hand drill devices and ~20% result in brain damage or death. This incredible case study explains PA's collaboration with Hubly Surgical to reimagine a safer cranial drill. Our involvement with surgical projects like this, alongside our capability in more traditional drug delivery, gives us the essential mix of skills and experience to support pharma and biotech companies that need to target delivery of their medicines to challenging areas of the body.

Imalytics Preclinical can be used to segment various organs, structures, and regions of interest. In particular, bone structures are easily to distinguish in a CT data set due to their high Hounsfield units. This is useful to apply threshold functions for reliable and user-independent segmentation workflows. We have implemented a simple and fast workflow to segment a mouse knee. The following bones are segmented: tibia, femur, patella, fibula, lateral fabella, medial fabella, lateral ossified meniscus, and medial ossified meniscus. ✨ Excited to share a new technique at the upcoming VeithSymposium in New York (November 18-22) ✨ I’m honored to have been accepted as Associate Faculty to present my innovative surgical technique: “Misalignment In FEVAR: Technique To Ensure Cannulation Of Target Arteries In PMEG: In Vitro Testing And Proposal For An Off-The-Shelf Device.” This technique, which I developed and am working to refine, is designed to optimize target artery cannulation in PMEG procedures. Initial in vitro testing has shown promising results, and my goal is for this approach not only to enhance FEVAR procedures but to inspire the creation of a readily available device that can support surgeons in the field. I hope this innovation will spark interest within the vascular community, and perhaps even attract potential collaborators for the journey toward final design. To my colleagues and vascular health professionals, I look forward to connecting and exchanging ideas at VeithSymposium! #VeithSymposium #PMEG #VascularSurgery #FEVAR #MedicalInnovation #SurgicalInnovation #Endovascular #MedTech #HealthcareInnovation #MedicalDevice #InVitroTesting #VascularCommunity

However, no difference observed in total operation time, intra-operative blood loss, seroma related outcomes and post-operative complications between the two groups. Researchers from the Department of Gastrointestinal Surgery at the Third Xiangya Hospital of Central South University recently published their study on Materials Today Bio, announced that the team developed a new technique openning up new possibilities for localized controlled release of small molecule peptide drugs and can facilitate the creation of more effective and efficient anti-adhesion materials. The research team developed an injectable hydrogel incorporating peptides, choosing two raw materials, carboxymethyl chitosan (CMCS) and poloxamer F127, as a matrix for the hydrogel, and glycolaldehyde as a crosslinking agent to improve the mechanical properties of the hydrogel, as well as the Endostain ( ES, an angiogenesis inhibitor ) was incorporated into the hydrogel matrix and was able to be released slowly. In order to investigate the compatibility and biodegradation of the above hydrogels in vivo organisms, the research team did in vivo experiments using Clinx IVScope 8500 Small Animal In Vivo Imaging System.
