🚀 Connecting with Engineering students at EMECS 🎓 It is the season of job fairs it seems. Yesterday, Ingo C. and Ganesh Kini represented Sofics at the EMECS job fair in Gent. Another event is taking place today. At Sofics bright engineers create new #chip design #innovations. It is actually one of the few locations in Europe with design activities on the most advanced process nodes like 3nm #FinFET or 2nm #GAA. And it goes beyond R&D because these innovations are integrated into IC products from leading semiconductor companies. Sofics' semiconductor IP enables applications like #AI, optical datacenter communication and automotive electronics. #Sofics #EMECSJobFair #EngineeringCareers #SemiconductorIndustry #Innovation #TechCareers

To coincide with National Careers Week (4 – 9 March, 2024), EngineeringUK has previewed the findings of their new report, which has revealed many positives for industry graduates. The report found that almost three-quarters of graduates who studied engineering and technology were in paid work for an employer 15 months after graduation, which is higher than that for graduates from all other subjects combined (69.7 per cent). Process Engineer at SLB | Chemical Engineer Graduate from University of California Berkeley | Masters in Chemical Engineering | Energy Sector | Oil and Gas | Specialty Chemicals.
I am sharing my experience as someone completing a Master's in Chemical Engineering, giving job prospects in areas related to Chemical Engineering 2024. 1) Semiconductor Industry: The job market for international students in the semiconductor industry is relatively favorable. Major companies such as Intel Corporation, AMD, Applied Materials and Micron Technology are actively hiring recent graduates. For example, Intel Corporation offers numerous opportunities across various locations, emphasizing diversity and inclusion in their hiring practices. https://lnkd.in/g-KydU2m 2) Battery Industry: The situation in the battery industry is more challenging for recent graduates. Many big companies and startups are focusing on hiring experienced professionals due to rapid expansion and investor pressures. This trend makes it difficult for new graduates to secure positions, as I have personally experienced in my job search. 3) Oil and Gas Industry: Entering the oil and gas sector remains very tough for international students. Despite the high demand for skilled professionals, the industry shows a preference for hiring individuals with USA citizenship status. Companies like ExxonMobil and Chevron have stringent hiring criteria, making it challenging for new graduates to break into the industry. However, occasional opportunities do exist, particularly in niche areas or through strong professional networks. 4) Energy Industry (Carbon Capture and Sequestration): Similar to the battery industry, the energy sector, particularly in carbon capture and sequestration, is dominated by start-up's. These companies often avoid hiring international students due to visa concerns and also international students don't prefer start-up's due to job security issues. This makes it less appealing for international graduates seeking stable employment. https://lnkd.in/gfRGAJfE *** Importance of Career Fairs: Attending career fairs at US universities can be incredibly beneficial. These events provide a unique platform to connect directly with recruiters, explore various career paths, and learn about the skills and experiences that employers value most. Career fairs also offer the chance to make personal connections that can lead to job interviews and offers. I have personally experienced significant benefits from attending career fairs at University of California, Berkeley. Overall, international students are finding better opportunities in the semiconductor industry compared to others. These are my personal views based on my experiences. I appreciate your comments and insights. #JobSearch #CareerAdvice #JobOpportunities #JobOpening #Hiring #GraduateJobs #Recruitment #CareerDevelopment #CareerGoals #InternationalStudents #UniversityGraduates #NewGraduates #STEMJobs #EngineeringJobs #ChemicalEngineering #SemiconductorIndustry #BatteryIndustry #OilAndGasJobs #EnergySector #CareerFairs #JobInterviews #GraduateJobs

Are you or someone you know looking for a new challenge, or maybe you are struggling to recruit the right people in your electronics manufacturing environment. Hopefully we have a solution for you. The first in a number of roadshows sponsored by the IPC and organised by Advanced Rework Technology Limited and Nano Electronic Services Ltd. The aim is to promote electronics manufacturing to the masses, help connect industry to the populace. As we know we are really bad at promoting ourselves outside of our industry and I suspect a lot of people don't know much about electronics and how things are made. We are very focussed on the next generation of design engineers , but someone still has to make the stuff they design. The education system is really poor at promoting manufacturing and when it does it tends to be construction, heavy engineering etc, so we are looking to try and change this, by getting out there and showing people what we are about. This series of roadshows will be held at an engineering company in the UK, we will hold some soldering workshops run by Advanced Rework Technology Limited, for anyone to come along and have a go. We have designed a custom board that attendees can take away with them. Alongside this will be seminars about the industry and a careers fair, encouraging local electronics businesses to promote themselves to the community. We will be encouraging one and all to come find out more. Colleges, Universities etc, anyone with an interest in a new career, maybe looking to reskill or just find out if its of interest to them The first event will be held Grinsty Rail Limited in Redditch, so if you are a local business and would like to be involved , or you would like to attend, or you know someone who could please email info@rework.co.uk This is a non profit & free to attend event, we are trying to make a difference so encourage the industry to come together and help us promote this, please share across your networks and encourage your contacts or customers or suppliers to get involved. #soldering #electronicsmanufacturing #electronicsindustry

Simplifying Entry-Level Hiring & Training | Founder & CEO @ iScalePro | 20000+ Interviews / Assessments Conducted | 3000+ Active Users
Curious to know how we screened 352 candidates in 1 hour? Though we help our customers for screening candidates day in day out. We wanted to eat what we cook. We did conduct a Mock Interview last week (June 28th) with Quantitative Aptitude test (15 mins Duration) and Automated Video Assessment (15 mins) in one of our partner college. Thanks to our partner college for arranging and supporting this. We made it as a Contest to make it interesting to the students. We sent a scheduled Assessment link upfront. Though we trust the students, iScalePro's advanced proctoring made the contest a level playing field without any need for manual monitoring. Students took the test and the complete score, proctoring report and individual student's report with ranking was available within 1 hour. Attaching the screenshot of the iScalePro dashboard to get sneak peek of this exercise. Last but not the least, kudos to the students who participated in this contest. Happy to see how iScalePro is able to adapt technologies to make Campus Recruitment & Entry Level Hiring seamless. iScalePro #TalentAssessment #TalentAssessmentPlatform #Hiring #RemoteHiring #CampusInterview #iScalePro #internship
