At LanzaJet, we believe that aviation is a testament to human ingenuity. It bridges distances, making our planet more accessible and united by connecting people, cultures, friends, and families. But aviation also leaves a carbon footprint, a cost we pass on to future generations. That’s why we have made it our goal to accelerate a net-zero transition for aviation. Over 190 countries are working together to decarbonize the aviation industry by 2050. They are trying to disrupt an industry that consumes 100B gallons of fossil-based jet fuel per year. Sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) is seen as the best near- and long-term solution to aviation's climate impact. By 2030, the U.S. Government has committed to supplying 3B gallons of SAF to meet our goal of fully transitioning to SAF by 2050. LanzaJet Freedom Pines Fuels is the world’s first ethanol to SAF production plant opening this month. LanzaJet’s SAF is drop-in ready, making it immediately compatible with existing aircraft and infrastructure. Our flagship facility can make SAF from low-carbon, sustainable ethanol sourced from a diverse and flexible set of feedstocks, like off-gases, municipal solid waste, energy crops, and agriculture waste. This flexibility is crucial to meet the growing demand of a new industry. Our plant’s grand opening on January 24th isn’t just a major breakthrough for the aviation industry, it’s a milestone for national energy security, rural economic development, clean technology, and our collective effort to decarbonize the planet. Not in 15 years, 10 years, or even 5 years. Someday is now. Learn more about SAF here: https://lnkd.in/gMFMyJ_c #LanzaJetGrandOpening #SAF #aviation

Australia is making significant strides in its commitment to Sustainable Aviation Fuel (#SAF) as outlined in the recent Aviation White Paper: Towards 2050. The country’s ambitious agenda to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and develop a robust domestic SAF industry is evident in its continued focus on innovative technologies and partnership. This commitment is backed by A$1.7 billion ($1.15 billion) in funding to accelerate the development of SAF and new feedstocks. LanzaJet is proud to be part of this momentum, with two key projects announced this year. We’re working with Jet Zero Australia to develop the nation’s first ethanol-to-SAF plant, a pioneering effort that will help establish a new standard for sustainable aviation in Australia. Additionally, our partnership with Wagner Sustainable Fuels will see the deployment of CirculAir™, our joint technology solution with LanzaTech, at their Brisbane SAF Refinery – Australia's first MSW-to-SAF facility – further advancing Australia’s leadership in SAF production. As Australia takes bold steps towards achieving net-zero emissions by 2050, LanzaJet is committed to supporting these initiatives through our innovative technology and strong collaborations. Our efforts are paving the way for the next generation of aviation, with sustainability at its core—both in Australia and across the globe. Forbes recently reported that for the first time in its history, the Formula E World Championship used Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) to transport its teams’ and the championship’s freight from one race location to another. The pilot program transported roughly 257 tonnes of race-related freight from Berlin to Shanghai. When compared to conventional kerosene aviation fuels, the more than 6,000-mile journey is projected to have a lowered carbon emission of approximately 1,145 t CO2e. The International Air Transport Association (IATA) also noted that the usage of SAF had cut gas emissions by 80%. We at ChemOne are happy to see real-life application and impact of SAF and are excited be a part of the world’s movement to green fuels, promising future generations a better tomorrow. #ChemOne #Sustainability #SAF #CleanEnergy Read on to find out more: https://lnkd.in/ggfVYc9E

A slew of new sustainable aviation fuel initiatives have been announced in the US, including major supplies for United Airlines and JetBlue at their respective hubs in Chicago and New York, Airbus investing in emerging SAF producer LanzaJet and UK start-up Firefly Green Fuels partnering with US biosolids feedstock provider Synagro Technologies to produce low carbon fuel in North America, reports Tony Harrington for GreenAir News. United will receive up to 1 million gallons (3,000 tonnes) of SAF during 2024 from Finland’s Neste, which has just commissioned a new terminal facility in Houston, Texas, while JetBlue will take at least 1 million gallons from World Fuel Services, potentially by the fourth quarter of this year. European aircraft manufacturer Airbus, meanwhile, has joined a list of big-name investors in LanzaJet, which recently activated the world’s first ethanol-to-SAF facility, Freedom Pines Fuels in Georgia. #sustainableaviation #sustainableaviationfuel https://lnkd.in/eszCsJ4Y
