Human Resources If heaven sends the best person to help us out in our cafe, can our pay scale support his or her worthiness to sustain a happy and deserved well-being? If we, as a cafe, cannot pay the best person - an ideal barista with exceptional situation awareness yet equally impressive character, the bad is on us. Hiring a bad person is on us too. 1. It is us who let this horrendous person to come in by our poor hiring practices. Simply put, we are stupid when it comes to Human Resources Management. 2. Even if we got a perfect person and we can't provide a meaningful means as a career, there is something wrong with our business model. Even if s(he) doesn't ask much, I don't want them to be limited, caged in a cafe. Simply put, we are stupid in building a sustainable business model. Worst, we are delusional. Can't hire good people. Can't pay good people. Can't keep good people. What's left are unreliable, untrustworthy and unethical people. So we can't quite complain that we can't find good people because secretly we know we can't even keep perfect ones.
