Today, the Lindt & Sprüngli Group published its sales results for the financial year 2023. The company reports another record with double-digit organic #sales growth of +10.3% to CHF 5.20 billion. All regions contributed to this #growth in yet another challenging market environment. Lindt & Sprüngli’s clear positioning as a leading brand in the #premium chocolate market paid off once again in 2023. I am proud to share Lindt & Sprüngli’s strong sales result for the financial year 2023. We achieved another double-digit organic growth of 10.3% to CHF 5.20 billion. All regions contributed to this #growth in a challenging market environment. Geopolitical uncertainties, continued inflation, and persistently depressed consumer sentiment in many countries shaped the 2023 financial year. While the supply market situation normalized to some extent, the volatility of individual raw materials such as cocoa remained high. Despite this, we were able to report another record year. I am particularly proud that we were able to achieve an improving volume trend in the latter part of the year, despite volumes in the #global chocolate market declining. It shows that our customers remain loyal to our brands despite the above-mentioned challenges. I would like to thank our consumers for their loyalty, and our more than 14.500 dedicated employees who made this great result possible with their outstanding commitment. #WeEnchantTheWorldWithChocolate

After approximately three years of construction, Lindt & Sprüngli has unveiled the plant extension to the Lindt Cocoa Center in Olten, Switzerland. By expanding its plant in Olten, Lindt & Sprüngli has showcased its dedication to Switzerland as a business location. Over time, the Olten plant has become more important for the entire Lindt & Sprüngli Group. It is now the largest and most significant cocoa mass plant within the global production network. It's time for CGP/FMCG business leaders to accept that the game is changing. Categories are being stretched - the price elasticity of everyday staples is being redefined by true innovation. Better products, yes. But really driven by stronger creativity; transforming what had become generic into something culturally magnetic and delivering a distinct brand experience. Take cereal. Tesco private label cornflakes (price-matched to Aldi) currently 16p/100g. Kellogg Company Special K (the O.G. 'wellness' cereal) available at 75p/100g at the same retailer. And then there's this. A partnership between SURREAL and Gymshark being priced at £2.50/100g. But the smart thing? It's still just cereal. It's targeting an existing mass-market purchase behaviour and consumption occasion. You don't need to radically change behaviours. Just 5% of that market will deliver incredible commercial returns because of the price point and margin. Especially for the retailer. Because it will reframe the value of the whole category. Pushing expectations higher, and creating commercial space for new brands at higher prices. A huge win for the grocers, and why this (and other brands like it) will continue to get support.
