Hearing first - hand more and more stories when doing our work The Lewis Foundation UK from hospital staff, patients and their families about the financial struggles being experienced following a cancer diagnosis. People having to make tough choices about what they can afford such as paying the bills over eating correctly and purchasing the essential products needed to help them following a diagnosis. This has a knock effect on an individual’s health, which can impact the effectiveness of their treatment. Sometimes meaning people will end up in hospital, which could have been avoided if they had the means to eat and purchase the items to help with the side effects of treatment. We continue to provide a range of pack choices for FREE to the hospitals we support to ensure people have access to items such as dry skin creams, hydration packs and more. We want to make sure that people can access something they specifically want and need that is their choice, with means not being a barrier to access.
