I *finally* hired a marketing leader. 🎉 I waited too long — I took “founder mode” way too far. Basically tried doing 5 jobs. 🤦♂️ This is not the intent of founder mode, but it’s a classic founder mistake. Yesterday Eric Linssen started. It’s a breath of fresh air to have him on the team. I consider myself a marketing-centric CEO and I’m beyond excited to have a partner in the story telling, audience building, and growth execution that I believe is increasingly important today. In the early 2020s SaaS marketers could get by with "spray and pray." Now buyers have raised the bar. As buyer rigor returns, great products with “good enough” sales & marketing will no longer thrive. Winning now requires GTM excellence. I believe ICP Marketing is the key. At Keyplay, we're on a mission to help our customers succeed with an ICP-first methodology. With Eric onboard we can turn up the volume on that mission. And he'll be building our own ICP Marketing playbook -- practicing what we preach. I'm pro founder mode. But I also know that we need a great team.
