On Wednesday, we presented the new results of the #Innovationsdikator 2024 at the #InnoNation Festival in Berlin. If you missed it, here are some key results: * Germany loses again and now ranks 12th out of 35 economies. However, it is still well positioned in key enabling technologies, particularly energy technologies, new production technologies, and the circular economy. * Singapur and Switzerland continue to lead the overall ranking. * China is constantly climbing the ladder. * Innovation capacity is highly geographically concentrated in a few leading regions, in particular in the larger economies. Last week in Berlin – a great week for international business and German SMEs. On Tuesday, we met with representatives of the BVMW foreign offices, discussing strategies and showcasing success stories in international commerce. With 82 foreign bureaus globally, BVMW offers an expansive network to its members. Wednesday marked the “Zukunftstag Mittelstand 2024” #ztm2024 with over 4,000 attendees and numerous politicians from various countries. The day revolved around the future of business, focusing on the German SMEs and international company relations. Engaging discussions unfolded with delegates from the VAR, Denmark, Bulgaria, the USA, and Canada. Though Jordan lacked official representation, the nation's potential quickly became evident in these exchanges whenever we had the chance to step in. Jordan stands out, with labor mobility and outsourcing being just a couple of the resonating topics. In the late afternoon, a meeting with Bundestag member Andreas Lenz centered on extensive conversations about energy, climate protection, and German-Jordanian collaboration. On Thursday, at the Jordanian embassy in Berlin, I had the privilege of speaking with Jordanian Ambassador Yousef Bataineh. #Innovation | 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗦𝘄𝗶𝘁𝘇𝗲𝗿𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗠𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗘𝗱𝗴𝗲 | Switzerland offers many opportunities for technological and entrepreneurial innovations, but there still is potential for further enhancements. ETH Zürich Space Science and Technology Professor, Dr. Thomas H. Zurbuchen, outlines three key priorities for Switzerland to strive for. First, upholding institutions that nurture innovation should be paramount, and Government-funded knowledge organizations should also proactively work to benefit Switzerland, while avoiding bureaucratic inefficiencies that could impact excellence and progress. Second, the Government-Private Sector Collaborations should be strengthened, and agility in administration should avoid hindering entrepreneurial success. 🔬 The Research and Innovation Week (R&I Week) is the European Commission’s flagship event on #research and #innovation which took place between 18 and 21 March 2024 in Tour & Taxis, Brussels, Belgium.   During the week, several announcements were made, initiatives discussed and topics debated. Celebrating the 40-year journey through the Research and Innovation Framework Programmes, the R&I Week 2024 debated the future of R&I and commemorated past and current achievements.   We highlight two main achievements for #Portugal: 👉 André Mão de Ferro, Veronica Costa Orvalho 🔜GDC and Miguel Castanho appointed as #EICAmbassadors. It is a great honor for us at Bliksund to take the stage at the Innovation Speech 2024, especially considering the wealth of innovative companies in Norway. This year's theme of the speech is Europe, and there are several compelling reasons for this focus: - With Europe serving as our largest market, it is imperative to grasp and actively engage with the dynamics and opportunities it presents. For Bliksund, Europe stands as our most important growth market. - Europe wields significant influence over global standards, regulations, and trade agreements. We need to remain cognizant of and actively participate in these processes to shape our own success. - The EU has set ambitious goals regarding climate and the environment, making collaboration with them essential for addressing pressing global challenges such as climate change and sustainability. Therefore, it is important to spotlight Europe and deliberate on its profound significance and influence in the contemporary world. Minister of Trade and Industries, Cecilie T. Here are a few key highlights from this year's edition: 🌟 Denmark remains the most innovative EU country, with Sweden following closely behind. 📈 The European Union's innovation performance continues to rise steadily, showing a 10% increase since 2017. 🌐 Geographic differences in innovation performance persist in the EU, with Innovation Leaders and Strong Innovators mainly located in Northern and Western Europe, while many Moderate and Emerging Innovators are found in Southern and Eastern Europe. 🌍 Switzerland leads as the most innovative country among EU and neighboring European countries, while South Korea remains the top global competitor in innovation.
