#PORTevent The Port of Hamburg is thrilled to kick off TransLogistica Poland - the leading transport and logistics fair in Eastern Europe! On the first day, Hamburg's Senator for Economics and Innovation, Dr. Melanie Leonhard, visited the Translogistica and the Port of Hamburg joint stand as part of her delegation trip. She was welcomed by Marina Basso Michael, Regional Director Europe and Maciej Brzozowski, Representative in Poland of Port of Hamburg Marketing and by our Port of Hamburg co-exhibitors HHLA Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG, GCD Glomb Container Dienst GmbH, and METRANS Group at the joint booth. The delegation, which includes representatives from the Ministry for Economics and Innovation and the northern German industry, aims to strengthen and expand the already robust economic ties between Hamburg and Poland. As one of the Port of Hamburg’s key trading partners, Poland routes a significant amount of its container traffic through Hamburg, a partnership that has grown consistently over the past two decades. Hamburg serves as a critical logistics hub for Eastern Europe, solidifying its position in European trade. In her opening speech, Dr. Melanie Leonhard emphasized the crucial role of the Port of Hamburg serving a strong export-oriented polish economy. The TransLogistica Poland provides a valuable platform for connecting with international partners and discussing current developments in the transport and logistics sector – a dialogue that holds even greater significance in today’s economic and geopolitical climate. Meeting partners from across various countries is essential for creating synergies and strengthening collaboration within the industry. 🤝 We look forward to a successful fair, building on existing partnerships, and forming new connections. Visit us at the Port of Hamburg joint stand for insightful discussions and valuable networking opportunities! 📷 HHM Katja Höltkemeier #portofhamburg #hafenhamburg Hamburg Innovativ Hamburg Port Authority (HPA)

Hello, "Hamburg Express"! 🚢👋 We are happy to welcome Hapag-Lloyd AG’s newest vessel, as it has made its first call in Hamburg on its maiden voyage! At almost 400 meters long and with a capacity of nearly 24,000 TEU, the "Hamburg Express" is not only the largest container ship ever to sail under the German flag but also the flagship of the new "Hamburg Express" class - a series of twelve sustainable container ships set to operate on key Asia-Europe routes. Equipped with dual-fuel technology, the "Hamburg Express" can run on LNG, cutting CO₂ emissions by 15-25%. Ideally, it will be powered by green methane in the future, which would reduce greenhouse gases by 95%! 🌏💧 On November 4th, the "Hamburg Express" will be christened in Hamburg by Eva-Maria Tschentscher, Hamburg's First Lady and wife of Mayor Peter Tschentscher. #PORTevent Great discussions yesterday in the Alberthafen Dresden! 🎉 We were pleased to welcome over 30 participants to this successful joint "maritime breakfast" organised by Hafen Hamburg Marketing e.V. and bremenports GmbH & Co. KG. Special thanks to Sonja Reissner from bremenports for her valuable insights on digitalisation in Bremen. Roman Fürtig from Port of Hamburg Marketing provided an update on key Sustainable Energy Hub projects! Another pressing issue raised was the National Port Strategy, particularly the responsibility of the federal government, with concerns that the €38 million port burden compensation falls short. #portofhamburg #hafenhamburg
Vielen Dank an alle Beteiligten! Wir freuen uns auf die Fortsetzung der spannenden Diskussionen beim nächsten Event. 📷 HHM #portofhamburg #hafenhamburg

#PORTnews 💧 Good news for the future Hydrogen Hub Hamburg: The Hamburg Hydrogen Industry Network ‘HH-WIN’ will become part of the nationwide, almost 10,000-kilometre-long hydrogen core network. This important decision has been made by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs in Berlin and the Federal Network Agency in Bonn. This means that Hamburg's industry will be able to benefit from a standardised hydrogen network fee in the future. For Hamburger Energienetze GmbH, which is implementing HH-WIN in the port area of the Port of Hamburg, this step will provide financial security for further expansion after the launch in 2027, which is expected to reach a network length of around 60 kilometres by 2032. Dr Melanie Leonhard, Senator for Economics and Innovation is happy about this decision: "This is a great success! All sections of the Hamburg pipeline will be integrated into the core German hydrogen network. This will enable our industrial companies in Hamburg to easily obtain hydrogen and reduce their CO2 emissions. The hydrogen produced in Hamburg or imported via Hamburg can also be distributed throughout Germany right from the start. With the inclusion in the core network, we are further developing Hamburg into the hydrogen hub for Germany." 📷 HHM/ envato #portofhamburg #hafenhamburg
