Today, the team of the German Denim Deal gave a panel talk at BLUEZONE International Denim Trade Show. Our latest podcast episode brings you an exclusive interview with two key figures from this project, Laura Vicaria and Romain Narcy 🌍 - support in setting up textile recycling centers. They break down the key ingredients of this powerful coalition for circular denim. The German denim market is the largest in Europe; could it become the EU’s leader in circular fashion as well? This next iteration of a Denim Deal is a multi-stakeholder alignment that brings circular economics to both local actors and to the global playing field. Built on the momentum of the Dutch Denim Deal, we can’t wait to see how this project unfolds in transforming fashion. Listen here: https://lnkd.in/edeU3dGn 202030 – The Berlin Fashion Summit is organized by studio MM04, in cooperation with the Beneficial Design Institute. It is a part of Berlin Fashion Week, and is funded by @senwebe. #sustainabledenim #denimdeal #circularity #circulardenim #denim #circularfashion #germanfashion #circulareconomy #bluezone

Patriot | Circular Fashion Purveyor | Investor's Proponent | Meliorist | Risk Taker | Progressive Young Politician |
As an observer or mere contributor from Bangladeshi fashion industry, I witness all stakeholders exerting effort or profiting in the name of sustainable practices from our traditional linear business paradigm while trying to lessen the negative effects of the current industry model. But unfortunately, why are we forgetting the concept of transforming the industry into one that operates within the limits of the planet's resources?

#SecondHandSetember ♻️ It so just happens we launched our - ‘ReNew, ReImagine, ReBuildLives’ programne last month. As part of the circular moment to buy less, repair and rebuild lives through fashion, we are also supporting the fact that we could play a vital part to think before you buy new. Buying second-hand clothes benefits the planet by reducing textile waste and lowering the carbon footprint. It conserves resources, decreases pollution, and encourages sustainable fashion. Plus, it saves you money and supports charitable causes, while also reducing the demand for fast fashion. #Overconsumption #FutureOfBusiness #FashionIndustry This … 👇🏻👇🏿👇🏽👇🏻👇🏿👇🏾👇🏻
#SecondHandSeptember is here! 🧡 This month is all about celebrating secondhand style, and looking critically at the mainstream fashion system of overproduction, overconsumption and waste. The rise of fast fashion has made overconsumption and disposable clothing our new normal, with an estimated 92 million tonnes of textiles waste being created each year (Global Fashion Agenda: Pulse of the Fashion Industry, 2017). But we have the power to change this. By extending the life of garments that already exist, you can challenge the idea of throwaway fashion, and save clothes from landfill or incineration ♻️ Will you be taking part in the pledge? Running buff. 🌍 💚 Co-Founder, find your POP. Female founded. Helping mission-driven and sustainable businesses build brilliant teams. Apparel/Lifestyle & FMCG
I'll definitely be supporting this movement. I'm now over two and a half months into the sustainable challenge (6 months no, non-sustainable fashion purchases) that me and my sister Holly Bishop set ourselves up for. To date, I haven't bought a thing, which is likely the best outcome, but maybe I can make my first purchase a second hand treat. #secondhandseptember #circulareconomy #sustainability

The dark reality of fast fashion: The true cost. While fast fashion trends continue to dominate headlines, the true cost still remains hidden: the exploitation and suffering of garment workers. Behind every cheap garment lies a story of rights being ignored. Their voices are silenced, their basic rights disregarded, and their protests suppressed. Yet, their stories deserve to be heard. It's time to peel back the layers and shine a light on the true human cost of our fashion choices. Don't turn a blind eye. Together, we can demand accountability from brands, stand up for the rights and dignity of garment workers worldwide, and pave the way for a more ethical and sustainable industry. Director Of Business Development at REMO the trading name of CCORRN & Trustee of REMO Charitable Trust
Remember it's not just about #fashion it's the whole garment industry. Not least of which is #workwear and uniforms. That's why we created an initiative focussed on debranding, rebranding and repurposing workwear. It starts in the workplace though. Many companies have a policy of issuing new uniforms without any take back or repurposing systems. Likewise when there's a rebranding exercise hundreds of thousands of items are simply landfilled or incinerated when they could be repurposed. Here's a bit more about us on our new website: https://lnkd.in/esddX-4m

Today, we could not be more thrilled to unveil “The Dress That Changes Everything” - a launch years in the making with our dear friends at Mara Hoffman. The Nyssa Dress is a truly industry-altering collaboration. Why? Because 50% of its Lyocell content is derived from polycotton textile waste - which means 50% less raw materials were used in the making of this material than traditional lyocell. It feels the same. It looks the same. It moves the same. The Nyssa Dress is the culmination of a collaborative partnership forged between Mara Hoffman and Circ® (Mara^Circ) years ago. It has been a true labor of love and feat of passion, science, and technology. Together, we have committed to creating a circular fashion industry - one that has an opportunity to reuse what we already have, instead of depleting our earth’s finite resources. This is the start of a world in which we no longer rely on virgin raw materials for fashion and beyond. And this dress is just the beautiful beginning. Follow us on the journey, there’s so much more to come → https://lnkd.in/gVZuAzad #CircEarth #circularfashion #sustainablefashion
