Pleased to share that Dr. Frannie Leautier, Senior Partner and CEO of SouthBridge Investments, has collaborated on a groundbreaking report advocating for increased investment in nature and the integration of natural capital accounting into decision-making processes. The report underscores the financial imperative, revealing that nature contributes $140,000 billion in essential services, surpassing the world's GDP by 1.5 times. Despite this, it receives only 1/6 of the investment allocated to clean energy systems. Emphasizing the necessity for unified efforts in natural capital accounting, the report outlines a comprehensive action agenda tailored for policymakers, investors, and businesses. It's time for financial systems to value nature. Why do we need the system of systems? On July 19, we hosted a webinar to launch our recent Systems Lab publication - “Making value chain decarbonisation a scalable reality: Role of Scope 3 systems in enabling collective action and co-investments,” the first to propose a comprehensive systems framework to verify, track and claim Scope 3 emission reductions. It introduces a “system of systems”, which ensures integrity and credibility for Scope 3 accounting while enabling collaboration and co-investments. Thanks to Jeff Seale, Director of Environmental Strategy & Climate Policy at Regrow Ag, and Josiah McClellan, Head of Carbon Assets at Land O'Lakes, Inc. for joining the conversation. Read about their views on the system of systems and why they think it's going to be crucial to scaling collaboration and co-investment in the value chain ➝ https://lnkd.in/e8DVuCnc #valuechain #carbonemissions #scope3

Want to know how green finance can transform communities? Watch this short video from NBC4 Washington on an inspiring leader that our team at DC Green Bank has the privilege to invest in, Ayesha M. Hudson!
What a great way to close out an historic week for green banks! These are the types of stories that you will see for years to come as we demonstrate the power of green finance to transform communities. Yesterday's announcement by VP Harris and US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Michael S. Regan to unlock $20 billion through the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund (GGRF) in investments that will reach every community in the country was an incredible step forward for green banks and critical partners. We are ready to get to work! Green banks are ready, and we have the track record to show it. When the GGRF dollars begin to make their way to communities, we will have countless more stories like this one with our inspiring and dedicated partner Ayesha M. Hudson. Ayesha has been serving her community for decades, and now she is bringing affordable and sustainable housing to those who need it most and in a community all-too-often forgotten. We are fortunate to be able to work with leaders like Ayesha and invest in her dreams. Thank you to the NBC4 Washington team, including Molette Green, for telling this important story. https://lnkd.in/eXF5usUT
