I am thrilled to share this exciting news - The Government Office of the Republic of Lithuania and The Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (LIAA) announced the winner of the design contest for the Baltic Pavilion at the international exhibition “Expo 2025 Osaka”. The winning concept features a unique interactive installation that creates a meditative space, highlighting the interaction between nature, people, and technology. The centerpiece of the design is a green glass wall symbolizing our planet, including the Baltic green forests. Using unique technology, condensation forms on the glass, turning the wall into an interactive platform where every visitor is invited to leave their message. This prompts philosophical reflections on the footprints we leave on the planet during our lives. Each message fades after a few minutes, creating a new platform for the next symbolic ‘footprints,’ thus symbolizing the 21st-century challenge of building a socially responsible and environmentally friendly society. This intuitive experience resonates emotionally with every visitor, regardless of gender, age, language, and religion. It invites us to unite for a better future. Visitors to the pavilion will be invited on a sensory journey through the Baltic region, providing an unforgettable experience for all senses: the exhibition will be enveloped in the scents of the Baltic forests and soil, complemented by specially composed musical accompaniment from Latvia and Lithuania. The pavilion entrance will be remarkable as well: it is made of smart glass that can change its optical properties. When activated, it forms a unified entrance to the pavilion; when deactivated, it reveals products available for purchase. #BalticPavillion #EXPO2025 #Osaka 🇱🇹 #CoCreateSolutions

🌍 All Eyes on Osaka as World Expo Timber Pavilions Take Shape! ⏰ As the countdown to the 2025 World Expo in Osaka continues, the excitement builds with the rise of stunning timber-based pavilions, including significant participation from Ukraine in a powerful "appeal for peace." With over 150 countries set to showcase their innovations, the Expo promises to celebrate culture and sustainability. 🔎 Key Highlights: 1️⃣ Ukraine's Meaningful Participation: Despite the ongoing challenges of war, Ukraine's commitment to the Expo underscores the importance of solidarity and hope. Governor Hirofumi Yoshimura emphasised the significance of their attendance as a symbol of resilience and the quest for peace, especially in light of Russia's withdrawal from the event. 2️⃣ Emphasis on Sustainability: Timber is at the forefront of this Expo, with many pavilions constructed from easily disassembled and reused materials. The Italian Pavilion, designed by Mario Cucinella, exemplifies this approach with its sustainable construction from cross-laminated timber and glulam, embodying the theme of “Art regenerates Life.” 3️⃣ Innovative Designs: The Japanese Pavilion, designed by Nikken Sekkei, explores the cycle of life through its circular architecture and biogas energy system. It showcases how Expo waste can be transformed into energy. This living structure highlights the interconnectedness of life and the sustainability principles at the heart of the Expo. 🤔 #questionforgroup: How can international exhibitions like the World Expo promote sustainability and cultural exchange in a way that inspires future generations? What role does timber play in shaping sustainable architecture? 🔗 To learn more about the pavilions and the vision behind the World Expo, click here: https://lnkd.in/gPDWyCry #worldexpo #worldexpo2025 #sustainability #timber #architecture #timberarchitecture #ukraine #japan #italy #culturalexchange #innovation #expo2025 #woodproducts #masstimber

# 489 CULTURE, Italy Cuore center. I have always believed that working in a space I define as "positive"—characterized by its natural light, aesthetic appeal, well-organized layout, and overall pleasant environment, but most importantly by the cultural value it offers—is inherently productive, regardless of whether the space is large or small. A prime example is La Triennale in Milan, featuring Cuore, its archive and study center—a platform dedicated to research, memory, and innovation. This space was conceived to showcase the scientific design work underpinning all the institution’s activities, serving as a catalyst for exploration and creativity. The center is designed to connect a diverse network of visitors, researchers, universities, heritage authorities, foundations, and companies. The project restores the original 1933 architectural design of one of the ground-floor galleries by Giovanni Muzio, marking the beginning of a broader initiative to requalify the entire Palazzo dell’Arte. Under the direction of AR.CH.IT and architect Luca Cipelletti, the redesign emphasizes the architectural heritage of the space, reinstating the perspective axis that guides visitors from the Palazzo’s atrium to Muzio’s iconic helical staircase. To accommodate varying functional requirements, the modular elements of the exhibition system are highly reconfigurable. This flexibility enables a variety of uses, including archival displays, study areas, meeting rooms, and both analog and digital exhibitions focused on specific themes—all aligned with the project’s overarching commitment to sustainability. 🙌 What’s your take? A hidden gem in Tokyo: 百段階段 (𝗛𝘆𝗮𝗸𝘂𝗱𝗮𝗻 𝗞𝗮𝗶𝗱𝗮𝗻) 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 “𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝗛𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗔𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝗼𝗻” 𝗘𝘅𝗵𝗶𝗯𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 If you're in Tokyo, don’t miss the 百段階段 (Hyakudan Kaidan = Hundred Steps Stairs), a hidden gem blending traditional Japanese architecture with stunning art. Currently, the venue is hosting the exhibition "One Hundred Aspects of the Moon x Hyakudan Kaidan – Enjoy the Moon with All Your Senses" from October 5 to December 1, 2024. This exhibition showcases 20 pieces from Tsukioka Yoshitoshi’s famous Ukiyo-e series alongside contemporary works exploring the moon in Japanese culture. The exhibition offers an immersive experience, where you can view moonlit scenes from Yoshitoshi’s woodblock prints while surrounded by the serene atmosphere of the historic hotel. This is a perfect way to experience お月見 (otsukimi = moon viewing), the Japanese tradition of moon viewing, in a space that invites reflection and appreciation of the moon’s timeless beauty. Whether or not you're staying at the hotel, it’s a cultural experience you won’t want to miss. Details: https://lnkd.in/eqH8yBZk ⚠️ Spoiler alert: 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗻𝗮𝗺𝗲, 𝗶𝘁 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝟵𝟵 𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗽𝘀! In Japan, 100 symbolizes perfection, but stopping at 99 is a reminder that work is never truly done.... there’s always one more vulnerability to patch, one more threat to mitigate, or one more audit to prepare for. Just like securing your IT systems, climbing those stairs is about progress, not perfection.

Join us in celebrating Global Exhibitions Day 2024. Exhibitions are more than just physical spaces. They are powerful platforms where ideas come to life and businesses connect with their audience. They serve as venues for unveiling innovation and also play a vital role in contributing to the economy by providing employment opportunities and facilitating trade and investment. Sustainability - the need of the hour As the world faces growing environmental challenges, it's time for businesses to step up and take responsibility. Our guiding principle - "if we do good, we will prosper" - should extend beyond the office walls to our presence in the exhibition space. It's time to prioritize #sustainability in exhibitions and booth design practices. Let's encourage the growing movement towards environmentally conscious design in exhibitions.
