We had a blast hosting our global execs at our local Mattel offices! The visit was packed with action; from exploring our latest design and development works to diving into business discussions, as well as lively townhall meetings in Hong Kong and Shanghai. The energy was contagious as we swapped ideas, shared insights, and connected with our leadership team over various sessions and casual teatime. Huge shoutout to our local crew for rolling out the red carpet and to our leaders for engaging in such valuable conversations. This visit was not just productive—it was unforgettable! Here’s to the great things ahead as we continue to innovate and grow together! 🚀 #Mattel #MattelAPAC #MattelLeadership #MattelInnovation #MattelTeamwork

Some great insights from a week spent delivering leadership team sessions across Europe (Barcelona, London and Kilkenny!). Here are a few reflections: 1. As they say, fish rot from the head down. Leadership is key in creating human-centric cultures. Remember, culture follows the leader! 2. Feedback is crucial to growth and development. When giving feedback, focus on making people better, not criticizing them. Use language like "even better if..." to provide constructive feedback that helps individuals improve. 3. And of course, there's always time for a little fun! Karaoke with a senior leadership team in London was a blast! Remember! Do what you love and love what you do! #leadership #teamdevelopment #culture #dowhatyoulove #lovewhatyoudo

Morale is a function of leadership. This is more than recognizing, appreciating, encouraging, and praising your colleagues and team members. It also means: - Having their back to avoid problems that they might not agree with or understand - Going to bat for them to show support in tangible ways, whether in person or virtual - Providing useful feedback, even when changing direction, pace, or approach Leadership at its best is the combination of building strong relationships with people and striving to meet or exceed business objectives.

Day-to-day, we get the chance to be awed by incredible people. The team around me is a huge part of why I get psyched about work every day - and that’s the same for nearly everyone I’ve asked about what motivates them to go to work, and stay in their team. Our executives often showcase servant leadership, giving their time and ideas and care so the team can succeed with a clearer path ahead and a diverse and capable group dynamic. This is the chance to nominate those leaders! Whether you work for them or have worked with them have simply just heard about the type of leader that they are, please celebrate them with a nomination! You’ll describe their overall leadership style, their digital technology impacts, sustainability outcomes and how they’ve inspired a diverse and engaged workforce. Nominees need to be in a cross-functional leadership position for at least 18 months, for a manufacturer/ brand making at least 500m USD in annual revenue. https://lnkd.in/gJXVBUhM

💥 Things our community have told us they are trying to do more off 💥 The month of August often offers up some space to have a think about priorities for the rest of the year. The things we need to stop doing, start doing or just continue doing to be better leaders, better collaborators. This has certainly been something our in-house creative leadership community have been chatting about, so I wanted to share a few insights into what our members are focusing on to ensure they are have more impact and influence. 👉 " I want to define who we are and what we do and stick to it - individually and as a team." 👉 " I want to spend less time justifying my team to everyone in the organisation." 👉 " I really need to get out of the weeds and spend more time understanding the business and building relationships internally. ” 👉 " I don’t want to be afraid to say no.” 👉 " I want to push myself and get into some difficult spaces." 👉 " The next few months is about ensuring all the basics are set up in our team so creativity can happen more easily" 👉 “Quite simply, I just want to do more of the right things." Do these resonate with you? Would love to hear what you will be trying to do more off …

This week, we were thrilled to host Doug Kauffman and JaKayla Williams of Balch & Bingham LLP to discuss learnings from their DEI journey as an organization. Their approach to DEI is not just about ticking boxes but fostering an authentic and inclusive company culture. Doug and JaKayla shared invaluable insights on how DEI should not be the responsibility of a committee of a few passionate individuals. It should be embedded into the very fabric of the organization. Here are the four tenets they recommended for organizations to follow: 🌟Listen: Truly hear and understand the experiences and needs of all employees. 🌟DEI is for Everyone: Ensure that every team member feels included and valued. 🌟It's the Right Thing to Do—Full Stop: While there may be a business case for DEI, it’s not the right motivation. 🌟It Has to Come from the Top: Leadership must champion and model these values for genuine change. We are excited to continue incorporating these learnings into our own practices. Together, we can create workplaces where everyone feels seen, empowered and respected.
