Mauricio Adade’s Post

Everyone at dsm-firmenich shares the mission to have a positive impact on the world. With this in mind, we sent a delegation of leaders to the 54th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum, in Davos, Switzerland.   This year, our CEO, Dimitri de Vreeze, had the opportunity to talk about the challenges of innovating in Europe and, in an interview, spoke about the importance of the intersection between people, the planet, and profit. He offered Bovaer® as a clear example of innovation in this regard – which unites these three fronts and represents much of our innovation pipeline – and the need to call for waste and emission reductions. He also emphasized the importance of transforming talk into action when we refer to sustainability.   Also in our delegation, Sarah Reisinger, Chief Science & Research Officer, spoke about the relationship between climate change and sustainable nutrition in a panel moderated by Katharina Stenholm, Chief Sustainability Officer, stressing how environmentally responsible food production is a key to better quality of life and making food more accessible to everyone. Katharina also spoke in a discussion about plant-based foods, sharing what our food engineering has achieved in this area.   Finally, the forum was also an opportunity to reaffirm our commitment to and collaboration with the World Food Programme in the development of nutritional solutions focused on children's development. This is a fundamental pillar in building a better world.   We took a message to the WEF, summed up in Dimitri's words: less talk, more action. For those who know me, this resonates a lot with my way of acting. That is what we are doing, and when I see our leaders setting an example and positioning us as a benchmark at the world's largest economic forum, I feel privileged to be part of dsm-firmenich. I am convinced that we are, in fact, shaping the future.   Let’s us act more and plan less! Are you ready to contribute?   #davos #wef #economy #sustainability #technology #innovation
