Over the past 16 years, 12 of them were governed by Democratic leadership. Despite their promises of progress, many critical issues remain unresolved. From economic struggles to divisive policies, the failures of the Democratic Party have left a significant impact on the nation. The party’s approach has often been criticized for deepening political divides rather than fostering unity and effective governance. Kamala Harris, a key figure in the current administration and a close student of Joe Biden, has also come under scrutiny. As Vice President, her track record has been less than impressive, raising concerns about her ability to step into the presidency if needed. Leadership requires not just rhetoric but tangible results, and the past 12 years have shown that there is much work left to be done. The American people deserve more from their leaders—accountability, competence, and above all, a commitment to truly serving the nation’s best interests. It’s time for a critical evaluation of what has been done and what needs to change moving forward.

Rep. Jim Clyburn of South Carolina, a pillar in the Democratic Party, has announced his decision to step down from his leadership role within the House Democratic Caucus. Recognizing the need for fresh leadership to address the nation's challenges, Clyburn expressed confidence in the current leadership team to continue prioritizing the needs of the American people. While stepping down from leadership, Clyburn affirmed his commitment to public service by announcing his intent to seek reelection to represent South Carolina's sixth congressional district. His unwavering dedication to serving his constituents and advancing the values of a more perfect union remains steadfast. As Rep. Clyburn passes the torch, Rep. Joe Neguse emerges as a promising contender for the leadership post. With a fresh perspective and energy, Neguse embodies the spirit of generational change within the Democratic Party. Clyburn's decision underscores his commitment to ensuring a smooth transition of power and fostering new leadership opportunities. As he embarks on the next chapter of his career, Clyburn's legacy of service and dedication to the American experiment will continue to inspire. ### In furtherance of its mission, ONFA established the James E. Clyburn Leadership Institute (JECLI) in 2021. With an emphasis on education, the Clyburn Leadership Institute will provide participants with tools as well as guidance for running effective and ethical campaigns that result in goal achievement: winning elected office. American Planning Association members: This inspiring, soup-to-nuts tour of how City of Jersey City has achieved so much success in their Vision Zero goals is a must-read. Systemic safety requires a multifaceted approach, and JC's efforts went all the way from executive leadership to organizational structure to key plans, policies, and processes to quick-build implementation approaches. While not all cities may have some of JC's advantages - a dense, mostly built-out urban form with strong multi-modal options - there is no doubt that every community can learn something from their experience and outcomes. Kudos Michael J. Manzella, AICP, Elias Guseman, AICP, and Lyndsey Scofield, AICP, PMP. An interesting #bigquestions from Alan Richards today when you consider a recent blog by Emma Knights for the National Governance Association where she refers to: "...governance workload has been largely overlooked to date. Yet, quietly behind the scenes, it is becoming overwhelming for many volunteers. This cannot continue under the radar..." Was so disappointed to hear today that alongside the 'slimming down' of the Governance handbook, the Governor & Clerking Competency frameworks are to be archived by Department for Education. Those of us supporting strategic governance really do need to come together and consider the message this sends not only for Governing Boards but our own services too. What about a national framework where we can ensure there is robust consistency across all sectors, Trust or Local Authority, which means they are held accountable on the same terms? As it stands, this is really worrying about what it means for how Governors will source support & guidance. School Leaders have a national framework and access to NLEs so why are those who volunteer their time, skills & experience being left to navigate the many avenues of guidance this will create? What will be the national standard of qualifying someone to be experienced enough in supporting Governing Boards? How will those offering support be protected should they not agree with a Trust or LAs approach? https://lnkd.in/gyMtvY8S Independent Governor Support Jan Linsley John Eccleston Fiona Collier Charlotte Hodgson Amy Wright Jayne Hadfield Victoria Del Giudice Su Garbutt Rosemary Hoyle

Five years ago today, I was elected as chair for Memphis LEPC, marking one of my first external positions ever held, much less one I was voted into. Today, I am proud to say that I am still working and growing with external government agencies, trying to change and shape how things can be done. As a woman working in a male-dominated industry, I have learned that success can be measured differently at times. But here's to always moving forward and writing your own narrative. Let's continue to break barriers and pave the way for future generations. #WomenInLeadership #BreakingBarriers #ChangeAgent #leadership #emergencyresponse #riskmanagement #change
