BioSpace's first Insights Report of 2024 is here. Interesting things to note: ◼ Competition for jobs is fierce and will likely intensify. The average rate for applications per job increased 137% in 2023 compared to 2022 ◼ The workforce is feeling the effects of leaner staff, with most (82%) performing tasks outside their job duties and working more than regularly scheduled hours (79%) ◼ Top motivations for job changes are growth opportunities, more money and a new challenge. ◼ 63% of organizations are still actively recruiting and 37% anticipate their number of open roles will increase in 2024.

Your #resume is part of the problem why you're not getting any responses when you apply for #jobs! Especially when we're talking about sales #resumes. 1) It's not written in a way that the person reading it can understand it. 2) You're missing pertinent information that hiring managers want. Not every job you apply to is in your #sales niche that you're currently in and have been working in. Example: Sure it might be important to say the type of capital equipment you sell by name - i.e Vein Viewer to a certain niche, but not everyone is going to understand what that is. You need to say: Sold $100k piece of capital equipment w/ disposables used in vascular surgery. So, if you're applying to a capital equipment role in general surgery, eye surgery, then you can see how this candidates background can align in those areas. Make sense? #Hiring managers in medical sales want to know who you know and where you've sold. Example: Put the health systems, you call on - on your resume. I.e. Mass General Hospital, Cleveland Clinic, Partners Healthcare, Baptist Health System, Jackson Health System. List specific doctor's names you know and/or Key Opinion Leaders in those hospitals and health systems. 10 out of 10 times when working with clients they ask us these questions when we submit candidates. Imagine what's happening when you submit directly to company websites? You're going right in the recycle bin and you wonder why you're not getting a response! Good news is we can help!
