🚀 Exciting Milestone Achieved for #CoventryVLR 🚄 Project! 📢 First phase of integrated system testing complete: We're excited to share that we have successfully completed a critical first phase of integrated vehicle and track testing for the Coventry VLR system. Our team surpassed 2,000 cycles on our 15-meter radius test track at the VLRNIC over two intense weeks, examining crucial factors like vibration, noise emissions, and wheel-rail wear. This milestone not only reaffirms our confidence in the innovative track system and vehicle design but also propels us forward as we prepare for the Coventry city centre demonstrator route; a key step in validating our project's vision. 🎉 Gratitude: Immense thanks to Coventry City Council's key partners; Department for Transport (DfT), United Kingdom, UKTram, Black Country Innovative Manufacturing Organisation, WMG, University of Warwick, Ingérop, Rendel Limited, AVLS, Anteeo, Arogus International AB, Vertex Systems Engineering, Pandrol, CEMEX UK, Tarmac, Colas Rail UK, Galliford Try, Thorp Precast Limited, Construction Fixing Systems, HET Elastomertechnik GmbH, Riecken Maschinenbau GmbH, Murphy Geospatial, Sunbelt Rentals UK & Ireland, GEISMAR, Interflon and many others! Your expertise, collaboration, and contributions, including in-kind support, have been crucial to achieving this milestone. #CoventryVLR, #CVLR ,#TransportationFuture, #MobilityRevolution, #SustainableDevelopment, #Innovation

Not to forget the amazing team at Transport Design International off your list, without whom the fantastic vehicle would not exist. A credit to all who worked on the project

Whilst it is good to see innovation, I’m curious as to the business case for VLR. How is this better than a guided busway?

Great to see very light rail starting to get traction… too many were prepared to dismiss it when the pioneers were seeking backers several years ago

I really enjoyed witnessing this testing and having a few rides around the test track. This has so much potential for Coventry and other cities across the UK.
