This just in: The National Plan to End Parkinson's Act has been signed into law! MJFF and our 2.75 million friends and advocates thank you, President Biden! And thanks to everyone who has helped get us here: advocates, scientists, patients, families, clinicians, caregivers and legislators, especially the bill’s lead sponsors Senators Shelley Moore Capito and Chris Murphy and Representatives Gus Bilirakis and Paul Tonko and other champions including Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and Representative Jennifer Wexton. In short order, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services will create an advisory council and the National Parkinson's Project, a first-ever federal initiative to prevent and cure Parkinson’s disease, treat its symptoms and slow or stop its progression. Thanks to all advocates of Parkinson’s making this happen. Honored to have been a part.
That's wonderful and significant news! Congratulations to everyone involved, especially the PD patients.
Wonderful news! 👏 Looking forward to prevention, better treatment and/or a cure … soon!
The best of America shown again - where else could this happen?
Great news! A big thanks to all the people working on this. Success! Lets end parkinsons!
Happy to hear that… My grandpa has this condition. Even though we are from another country, and even though changes take time, it gives me hope. It’s a basic human right to be in control of your own body and mind.
Thank you for continuing and tirelessly pursuing this important work! It is so greatly appreciated!
