Our team, the OECD Development Innovation Facility and Nesta's Challenge Works are pleased to invite you to a report launch event on Tuesday, 3 September, at 15.30 CET. Join this virtual seminar to learn about the main insights from the forthcoming paper and engage in a dialogue to explore: How challenge funds and prizes can be designed and managed to nurture innovation ecosystems in low-income countries, and help strengthen public sector innovation capabilities? We have collaborated on an investigation of the effects of challenge funds and challenge prizes on local innovation ecosystems, and how these instruments have contributed to building dynamic capabilities in public sector entities.  Based on a literature review, a synthesis of ten evaluations and insights from four case studies in Rwanda, Sierra Leone, The Gambia, and an Africa-wide initiative, we have developed a set of recommendations to support professionals working in international development organisations and public sector officials in low-income countries, especially those charged with designing and managing challenge funds and prizes and advancing new ways of working. 💶 Can national venture capital investors help deliver on the New #European #Innovation Agenda? 🏰 This is what we discussed yesterday at an excellent event organised by CEPS (Centre for European Policy Studies) and CDP Cassa Depositi e Prestiti. ✔ I gave a state of play of the 25 actions to: 1️⃣ Improve access to finance for deep-tech scale-ups. 2️⃣ Establish framework conditions for deep-tech innovation. 3️⃣ Promote innovation ecosystems and tackling the innovation divide across the EU. 4️⃣ Foster, attract and retain deep-tech talents. 5️⃣ Improve innovation policies at the EU and national level 🌍 See slide on examples of the more than 160 actions by #EU Member States and Associated Countries to #horizoneurope supporting the New #European #Innovation Agenda.
