The research is clear: mixed-income housing is key to upLifting Orlando. 📊 70% of young adult Americans said that it was harder for them to afford a home than it was for their parents’ generation. In October 2021, about half of Americans (49%) said this was a major problem where they live—and this is up 10 percentage points from early 2018. Affording a home is now an American challenge; we need one another to learn how to handle this challenge best. For over a decade, Lift Orlando has been working with residents to create mixed-income housing opportunities, bringing beautiful homes to places like Pendana at West Lakes and Pendana Senior Residences. Every day there's an unending stream of commentary, criticism, and cynicism re policy and strategy around our housing crisis in the GTA. We cannot talk our way out of this crisis. We need action. Habitat for Humanity GTA, through its staff, volunteers, developer partners, and donors is getting it done; continuing to innovate to make housing more affordable and attainable to more families, and now couples and singles through our new HomeStart program!
