Interesting approach taken here by the DPP to restructuring the upper echelons of the CPS: These two new DG posts at Crown Prosecution Service (paying up to £150k, with the recruitment handled by a third party) will sit above the [not long ago created] Directors of Legal Services, themselves sitting above the Chief Crown Prosecutors. Puzzling as to why recruitment is not done in house for these posts, in contrast to the other roles mentioned. For comparison these salaries would be roughly equivalent to six lawyers, and in the context of a recent freeze in recruitment for certain roles.

Exactly .. such head title needs to disappear not in marketing across whole functions when it is created without a supportive optimized structure .. it is a way to destroy hierarchy, create political centralization and diminish job descriptions ... in many situations, a head is just a vague position that ruins reporting lines and inflat titles .. #organizationalpsychology

One Mariner we can't help but think of when it comes to his dedication to customers is our Account Director, Steve Higgins! Steve stands out for many, having been a part of Mariner since 2008, where he began his journey as a co-op student and then full time after graduating from Dalhousie University. Through the years, Steve has held several roles as Marketing Coordinator, Delivery Coordinator, and Delivery Manager, but it wasn’t until his work in recruitment that he discovered a real interest in the sales side of the business. "What first got me interested in Sales was actually my role in Delivery, where I had responsibility for recruitment activities. As a small company we would need to often pitch ourselves to top talent that we were trying to attract, and there would be lots of negotiations on salaries, compensation packages, etc. I enjoyed pitching and negotiation, so naturally thought that Sales would be a good path for me to follow to progress my career." Today, with 14 years of experience in the IT services field and over 4 years on the Sales team, Steve enjoys the challenges of selling professional services and solutions to the communications service providers (CSP) market. Here, he thrives from managing large customer accounts and continuously building relationships with customers. He takes pride in his ability to collaborate with clients to find innovative and creative solutions when solving their unique business challenges, "I enjoy being an advocate for my customers, going the extra mile, and being flexible in helping to meet their challenges and needs".
