The demand for paid family leave is soaring, but adoption still faces hurdles. In fact, paid leave is ranked equally important as retirement and healthcare benefits. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, access to paid family leave has increased but men are less likely to take it when available. Encouragingly, state-level movements are expanding paid leave, yet complexities abound. As your organization navigates parental leave policies, ask these questions: 1️⃣ Are policies equitable and integrated with state mandates? 2️⃣ Is the leave duration conducive to bonding and reintegration? 3️⃣ Does your organization promote leave regardless of gender or orientation? Family bonds are invaluable.
