Over a thousand scientists and Nobel Laureates have signed an appeal, urging members of the European Parliament to support New Genomic Techniques (NGTs) in the upcoming parliamentary decisions. The scientists highlight that NGTs, including genome editing, are an important tool in the plant breeders’ toolbox 🛠️ 🌡️ During climate crisis, they provide us a faster alternative of developing varieties better tolerant to drought or increasing temperatures 🔬 They enable targeted editing and development of crops with improved resistance to pests or diseases, thereby reducing the use of chemical plant protection, in alignment with EU’s #FarmtoFork strategy 🚀 Recognizing the fast global development of the sector, innovation and scientific progress is essential for the competitiveness of the European economy The signatories assert that the Commission’s draft legislation would contribute to our pursuit of a “more resilient, environmentally conscious, and food-secure future” 🌱🌍. To resolve complex issues such as pesticidal pollution, science should proceed along suitable trajectories within appropriate institutional contexts. In this new paper of ours, we unveil how national entities, foreign academia and extensive inter-country cooperation shape pest management science in the Global South. Countries such as Brazil, Kenya, Mexico or Benin are true front-runners in transnational cooperation and actively reach out across their borders. Meanwhile, international development cooperators offer real, yet marginal improvements in holistic 'system-level' scientific approaches. We argue that institutional reform and a careful rerouting of scientific trajectories can raise the pace of incremental change to a point at which science transforms practice. The GreenGenius roundtable discussions are based on the 𝐬𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 approach, which is applied in the GeneBEcon EU project. 💡Systems thinking is a holistic way of investigating factors and interactions that could contribute to a possible outcome (consequences, risks, benefits etc.). This way of thinking is visualized in a systems map. Introduction: The world is testifying a difficult time with the coronavirus disease (COVID- 19) which was declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO) on March 11 th, 2020. Various symptoms of patients infected with COVID-19 indicated the importance of immune regulation in the human body. So, the immune system is regulated by stimulating the immune cells which has recently been confirmed by the use of quantitative methods for the exploration of the activity of the reticuloendothelial system (RES) with plant extracts by the immune modulation. Methodology: In this study we have evaluated the immunostimulatory activity of Haqua Revitalize Therapy-HART (hot water at 50°) and compared it with vitamin C at the dose 500 mg/kg in mice and determination of catalase concentrations. Results: Our results show that the treatment with hot water and vitamin C increased the phagocytic activity of the reticuloendothelial system (SRE), the corrected phagocytic index α and decreased the rate of carbon clearance (t 1/2) and the concentration of catalase enzyme activity. Conclusion: we concluded that hot water and vitamin C as a preventive and a natural source of antioxidant and they have immunostimulatory activity against pathogens such as virus.
