Every year, we celebrate the achievements of women around the world on International Women’s Day (IWD), but for me, this is also a day when I take stock of our actions in breaking down barriers for women in the workplace and promoting equitable opportunities for all. Are we doing the right things? Are we doing enough? The theme of this year’s IWD is “Invest in Women: Accelerating Progress”, which resonates with me deeply as I strive to create environments where everyone feels they can thrive and belong. Here are just some of the ways we are accelerating progress for women: - Women@OMERS Employee Resource Group – one of our most popular ERGs with an active and growing global membership - Inclusive Leadership training for all people leaders - Award-winning leadership and learning opportunities - Anti-bias reminders in all talent and performance processes - Requirement to set a culture and community impact goal as part of every employees’ performance process How do we know these, and many other programs and initiatives are working? - OMERS and Oxford is recognized as one of the Best Workplaces for Women in Canada - Increased representation of women in VP+ roles (31%, +2% since 2021) - Increased representation of women in investment roles (31%, +4% since 2021) - Over past two years, no significant differences in employee survey scores between men and women We will keep investing in the advancement of women – and all of our employees – as we continue on our inclusion and diversity journey. #InspireInclusion #InternationalWomensDay #InclusionandDiversity #LifeAtOMERS #InclusiveCulture
