“HIRE FOR ATTITUDE, TRAIN FOR SKILL" What can we all learn from Travel and Hospitality? With today being World Tourism day 🌏 , I wanted to share the first excerpt of a conversation I recently had with Jason Gelineau.  Jason is a visionary in the design of exceptional Luxury hospitality experiences. We first met on board MSC Cruises' Explora Journeys where I was a speaker. “Hire for attitude, train for skill” is a well-known known phrase, but in Jason’s case this really came to life. Many of the “hosts” on board did not have the sector experience or technical skills. However they were all warm, kind-hearted people – and this is what made the difference. I see many companies insisting upon relevant sector experience, where the role itself really does not require this. To me, this limits diverse thinking and places not enough emphasis on the human qualities required for the role. I am thrilled to share a recent milestone in my professional journey, all thanks to BookingJini and Sibasish Mishra! Hosting an event was something completely new to me, but I seized the opportunity with both hands and dove right into it.
