#digitpharma conference 2024 in Düsseldorf was an insightful event 🎓
First off I had the honour to contribute to a panel discussion with Neli Botz, Prof. Dr. Dr. Ulrich Sprick, Dr. Hecker, Simon Kurzhals, and Dr. Kati Wegner about how to improve communication between HCPs and pharma.
My main takeaways from all session and numerous conversations are:
🗣️ Good communication with HCPs is more critical than ever as healthcare is getting more complex through ongoing innovation. HCPs require more than ever good oversight and education offers, yet their willingness and time to engage with pharma is certainly not increasing.
🤝 Good communication is still to a major part driven by great human interactions – and people skills from fieldforce are key. Listening and tailoring engagements to individual HCP-needs requires great reps.
🤖 Omnichannel as well as smart sales and marketing support – i.e. “next best engagement engines” – drive innovation in tailoring engagements. However, they still lack support from particularly fieldforce (i.e. change management was a BIG topic) and they really lack outcome data to measure success and improve (due to either health data regulation or workforce regulation laws).
📱Digital health platforms such as our’s behind our digital therapies can open new channels to HCPs – e.g., through feeding patient engagement data and outcomes back to HCPs, accelerating real-world validation of effectiveness and thereby therapy adoption in the field.
👨⚕️ Finally, I was impressed by some HCPs already living blended care – switching fluidly their treatment regimen for patients between face-to-face interventions with digital therapeutic support. Prof. Ulrich Sprick being superinspirational here.
Overall, a great conference with really smart people working on meaningful problems!
