Last Friday, we had the privilege of sharing our perspective with Globes גלובס Real-Estate Magazine on the untapped potential of #underground_spaces_in_urban_environments - focusing on the opportunities surrounding light rail stations in Israel. FROM MASTER PLANS TO MEMORABLE PLACES: Making Brisbane's Spaces Speak to the Spirit of Brisbane Most master plans focus on infrastructure, but here's the real challenge: creating precincts that transform infrastructure into experiences people love. Traditional precinct design gives us functional spaces but often misses what makes places truly memorable. Studies show that neuroarchitecturally-designed spaces can increase foot traffic by 10-20%, boost social interaction by 50%, and reduce crime rates by 21%. In my recent The Committee for Brisbane Connectivity Sub-Committee podcast, I shared how neuroarchitecture could position Brisbane as Australia's Subtropical Capital through 'active infrastructure' - connecting precincts via discovery/fan trails that engage both mind and body. This approach transforms spaces between destinations into experiences themselves. As Brisbane evolves through the City Centre Master Plan 2014 and Elevate 2042 Legacy Strategy, we have a choice: build more infrastructure or create living environments that connect deeply with people.
