On Tuesday, July 16, Needham Bank employees attended the Fenway Community Development Corporation’s Fenway Ball Gala. The event celebrates community partnerships and raises funds to support affordable housing, education, job training, and wellness services for over 2,500 residents. We love seeing and supporting organizations like Fenway CDC who provide the building blocks to our most vulnerable neighbors so they can work toward achieving their goals and dreams.

New Jersey's Neighborhood Revitalization Tax Credit (#NRTC) program provides a unique funding method for community development organizations. By offering a 100% tax credit to businesses that fund nonprofit revitalization plans, NJ focuses on the ability to plan and execute comprehensive community projects rather than adhering to strict #CDC definitions like in #SC or #MA. Should more states offer flexible funding procedures to enhance community development efforts? https://bit.ly/3Run2ji #CommunityDevelopment #UrbanDevelopment #SocialGood

CDCs, or Community Development Corporations, have a rich history of addressing economic and social challenges in disinvested neighborhoods. Over time, these organizations have evolved from informal grassroots groups to highly structured nonprofits, gaining better access to funding and recognition. In some locations, access to funding and recognition has become tied to these organizations’ certifying as community development corporations (CDCs). How does this benefit them? Find out in this piece from our Under the Lens series—Moving Community Development Forward: https://bit.ly/3Run2ji #CDCs #NonprofitDevelopment #SocialImpactInvesting

Impacting Lives Through Empowering Individuals | Volunteer leader, Certified Enneagram Coach, Licensed Solemniser | ChFC®, AEPP®, IBFA
Community is more than a place. It's about the lives we touch and the impact we make. Chairing the Punggol West Community Centre Management Committee... I have seen the power of community engagement. It creates a space where people feel supported, connected, and empowered. The impact? We nurture a sense of belonging and mutual support. From youth programs to initiatives for the elderly, our efforts are designed to make sure no one feels left out or behind. Why this matters... In a world that's increasingly digital. The human connection matters more than ever. Our work in the community is a reminder of the tangible difference we can make in each other's lives. Here's what I've learned... Every contribution, no matter how small, has the potential to spark change. Whether it's volunteering a few hours, participating in a clean-up, or simply lending an ear to someone in need, it all adds up. And the best part? The joy of seeing our community... Come together. Overcome challenges. Celebrate achievements. Witnessing this strength in action is truly rewarding. So, here's my invitation to you: Get involved. Make an impact. Your community needs you. And trust me, the fulfillment you'll find in service is unparalleled. Together, let's make a difference. Not just for today, but for generations to come. #WeMakeImpact
