On this International Women’s Day, I celebrate ALL women and especially the women of @guidedogsaustralia. I celebrate their impact on humanity. I celebrate their (often quiet) achievements both professionally and personally and their ever present strength to focus on people. They push through the seemingly impossible. Women’s mental and physical strength shines through in all sorts of adversity. In the face of challenge, they are fearless and despite some very ordinary experiences, they always seem to land on the side of caring. Caring is sometimes harder work than not to care. Caring isn’t soft. It can be but it’s about caring about the past, present and future of all the things we touch or can touch. Making tough decisions. The decisions we make that affect our families, our friendships, our workplaces, our broader community, our country and our globe. The decisions that affect people and their experience of inclusion. To our many allies, Thankyou for embracing women’s strengths and vulnerabilities in all forms. Thankyou for recognising that the strength you see is never a threat. For truly knowing, experiencing and understanding the equal contribution of women and for showing others the way (and yes, there’s still a way to go). Thankyou for your mutual respect and for the wisdom you hold to realise the full potential of the community and that working together can create and build impactful organisations like @guidedogsvictoria💓
