For this month's Employee Spotlight, we are excited to highlight Dante Foye (pictured on the left), Northern's Lead BHT for the Wellness & Resiliency Program. Our Assistant Director of the Wellness & Resiliency Program, Edith L. Cruz, had many wonderful things to share about Dante: "Dante is a team player; he is attuned to the kiddos and staff and performs above and beyond when needed. However, we all know we don’t have to ask Dante because he is always willing and ready to help. He successfully manages multiple tasks and assigns staff to kiddos based on their needs and staff strengths, while providing additional emotional and environmental support. Dante ensures a safe environment by de-escalating situations that could pose risks to kiddos and staff. Both youth and staff feel safe with Dante; he has developed healthy relationships with all youth and is seen as a trustworthy individual who is always there to listen and assist in challenging situations. He has also created a safe space where staff can raise concerns about youth or colleagues." Please join us in congratulating Dante as our July Employee of the Month and thanking him for all his hard work.

I believe that values are so core to meaningful and aligned work (and life). They are foundational to our identity and when we are acting in ways that move us away from them, we begin to become disconnected from our selves. If you've received an email from me, you likely see that I sign off with my values. Sometimes one and sometimes all 3. "With courage, kindness and curiosity, Brad" Why did I start doing this? Well, I never really loved the traditional "Kind regards", it felt a bit pointless. I transition to "Naturally, " when I had my business Naturally Gathered before this. I do this for two key reasons. 1. It constantly reminds me of my values and keep myself accountable to them. 2. It lets others know how I want to show up and means that they can also keep me accountable. How do you keep your values present and front of mind? Next month in the community, our theme is 'Values' and contributes to our Big Purpose of: Bringing together occupational therapists ready to move beyond traditional expectations to more aligned and meaningful ways of working so that we can deliver services that we believe in, shed the constraints of traditional OT and be energised, inspired and fulfilled in our work. There will be prompts to support exploration and the wonderful Rebecca Rae-Hodgson is hosting our guest session to help us dig deep into this idea. We'll be opening the community for OT week BUT did you know if you grab a VIP ticket for the OT Extravaganza you'll get access during the Values month for free? Grab a ticket now but heading here: https://lnkd.in/gfrF7DdK

Tai Pawb are officially trialling the four-day week. Effective from 1 April 2024, we will be embarking on a 12-month pilot of the four-day week (4DW). We recognise this is a journey for us, but we are keen to make it a success - as it has been for the large majority of those who undertook the global trial. We look forward to sharing our learning and experiences, so keep an eye on our LinkedIn. Why are we implementing the 4DW? Global trials and the successful implementation of a 4DW by hundreds of organisations has demonstrated increased staff well-being, maintaining or increasing productivity and performance, promotion of equality and has helped employers attract talent. We also follow in the footsteps of two of our member organisations. Merthyr Valleys Homes took part in the global trial, and following on from the success of that trial, the policy was adopted permanently. Co-Production Network Wales has also recently adopted the policy. How will it work? During the initial period, we are piloting all colleagues having the same day off – which will be a Friday. This will mean that our services will be operating from Monday-Thursday. The 4DW is based on a principle of 100 – 80 – 100: delivering 100% of the work, in 80% of the time, for 100% of salary. The concept is gaining ever-more support both here in the UK and internationally, with public, private and third sector organisations arranging trials and successfully implementing the policy. This should not affect our work with our members and we will be monitoring our outputs, outcomes and staff wellbeing closely. We have set up a robust framework for ensuring and monitoring our performance alongside the impact of the four-day week, recognising that any potential challenges are identified early. This includes engagement and feedback from member organisations and our colleagues. Wish us well as we embark on this new way of working, and continue our commitment to advancing equality, diversity and social justice in housing in Wales.

"One of my most impactful projects was working with Children's Nebraska, and their Patient Experience Program. This program gathers feedback from former patients to recognize the outstanding work of nurses, doctors, and other staff members. It's inspiring to witness how such recognition boosts morale and validates the incredible contributions of those who dedicate their lives to saving these children. This initiative highlights the power of appreciation and its ability to uplift spirits and foster a sense of pride and accomplishment - to those who can sometimes have the hardest of days." -Paige Simpson, Enterprise Technical Account Manager A few fun facts about Paige... Bucket List item: "I would love free dive with humpback whales! I can’t imagine how humbling it must be to feel so minuscule and unimportant next to a huge whale. I don’t know if I would be speechless or scream from excitement, but either way I would love to jump in the ocean with such gigantic creatures!" If you could have lunch with one historical figure, who would it be? " I'd love to have lunch with Princess Diana because she's such an icon and a legend. It would be amazing to chat with her about life behind the palace scenes and learn more about her as a person. She just seems so cool, and I'd be fascinated to hear her all of her stories, and maybe some secrets." #employeerecognition #hr #retention #companyculture #awardies #awardco #recognizethegood #rewardsandrecognition
