The #renewable #energy industry has experienced impressive growth over the past decade. In 2022, renewable energy deployments grew by double digits worldwide. However, only 14 percent of all energy use currently comes from renewable sources. Renewable energy is estimated to make up 77% of the world's primary energy supply by 2050. To achieve this target, the deployment of renewable energy must triple from 2022 levels by 2030, which amounts to an annual addition of 1,200 gigawatts. Renewable energy has been part of CREC’s overall power mix for many years. During 2023, 17% of the total power supply came from renewable energy (13% wind and 4% hydro). According to the latest projections, the manufacturing capacity in the renewable energy sector is expected to exceed 150 GW by 2026. This means that the industry will have the capability to produce more than 150 GW of clean energy products per year, including solar panels and wind turbines. In addition, the cell capacity in the same sector is expected to reach over 75 GW by 2026. Hybrid energy raft could power 1,000 homes daily with wave, wind, solar The power plant is a 38-meter raft with wind turbines and solar panels, generating about 1 MW with a 40% capacity factor. A Swedish renewable energy firm is aiming to further clean energy generation with its innovative Hybrid Energy Converter (HEC) that harnesses the combined power of wave, wind, and solar energy. NoviOcean’s HEC generates double the power per sea area compared to wind. VOC Port has witnessed a significant leap in renewable energy generation, driven by ground-based Solar power (5 MW capacity), rooftop solar power (640 KW capacity) and wind power (2 MW Capacity) the Port has generated 9,03,162 units of Power during the month of May 2024, when compared to 58,674 units of Power generated during the month of May 2023.
