When the Rotary Club of Park Cities’ annual Fourth of July Parade returns this Thursday, it promises to make a big impact on North Texans facing hunger. Since 2016, the North Texas Food Bank has been the beneficiary of the Rotary Club of Park Cities’ Fourth of July Parade. To date, the club has raised enough money to provide access to 1,717,918 meals for children, families and older adults facing hunger in the NTFB’s 13-county service area. This year’s parade will kick off at 9 a.m. July 4 at Highland Park Town Hall. The parade will include antique cars, firetrucks and first responders, high school groups, community floats and a bike decorating contest. The honorable Joel Williams is serving as Grand Marshal. The parade ends at Centennial Park, formerly Goar Park, where there will be a festival. Thank you for all you do, Park Cities Rotary Club ! https://lnkd.in/gmTfZwsN

Camden is a vibrant, multicultural borough, with 45.4% of Camden residents born outside the UK, contributing to its rich diversity, albeit with significant socio-economic challenges: - At 41%, Camden has the second-highest poverty rate in London. - Camden faces the worst housing affordability in the capital. - London’s Black and Asian communities have been disproportionately affected by the cost-of-living crisis. - Over 2 in 5 Bangladeshis and nearly 1 in 3 Black Londoners live in overcrowded housing conditions in Camden, which is considerably higher than the UK average. - There has been a 39% rise in hate crimes all over London in 2023 compared to 2022. Our incredible community researchers are examining the impact of structural racism on housing, education, employment, and safety across the borough. Findings from our research will inform policy recommendations aimed at key development areas, such as enhancing community infrastructure, improving educational quality with better cultural training and diverse curriculum design, and fostering pathways to employment through collaboration with local businesses. Join us in working to address and dismantle racial inequalities in Camden, and creating more just and inclusive communities for all!
It’s a political bus, but not as you know it. Camden Giving and our friends are heading to Birmingham to meet brap to prepare for a Community Assembly on Strucutal Racim in this September. Greek Week continues to make a big impact in the local community and this hyper-local storytelling should remain a focus. I think, because we’re at a world-renowned institution, we aim a lot at showing how far-reaching our footprint goes. This story is part of that too—many of those involved will go on to do great things across the world. But, right now, we’re telling a story of students building camaraderie and connecting with where they are at this point in time and with what’s closest in proximity. That doesn’t minimize their impact by any means. So, I think this also shows how important Fraternity and Sorority Life remains to the philanthropy of the area. How FSL creates leaders and constructive citizenry. If you connect those dots, you see that this article tells multiple stories beyond the surface.
MSU Fraternity and Sorority Life concluded its annual Greek Week this past spring with excellent achievements in community service and philanthropy. Overall, Greek Week raised over $30,000 for the Greater Lansing Food Bank and the Ingham County Animal Shelter. Students organized a Crowd Change Campaign and various food fundraisers to support these vital community organizations. http://spr.ly/6047iuVtU

So many business owners could get behind a project such as this. These developments going up everywhere in Truro, but I have not heard anything about affordable housing in the mix. There are so many of our families, friends and neighbours are homeless with not enough beds. Folks don't need a great big space...only big enough for a bed, small kitchen area and a bathroom with a sink, toilet and upright shower. This would get people out of the cold and off the street for the winter. Have the Town donate some land for a project, donations of materials to build from local businesses, volunteers to come together with their skills. tools and the willingness to help...you never know, you might be helping a friend who is hitting rock bottom. Think about this...it can be done if everyone brings whatever the can to help. Don't have another cold winter watching folks sleeping on benches or behind buildings...the people of Truro are better than that.

🏉 Supporting Our Community - Strathmore Rugby Club Project 🏉 We're delighted to share our recent community project at Strathmore Rugby Club in Forfar! As one of the club's main sponsors, we contributed £4,141.04 in kind community donation to extend the outdoor seating area. This enhancement supports weekly park runs, Andy's Man Club meetings, and monthly car boot sales, ensuring the club can thrive. Special thanks to Laird Brothers (Forfar) Limited and Sunbelt Rentals, Inc. for their invaluable contributions to this project. Their support was crucial in completing this three-day project on time. At Kilmac, we're committed to social value and community support. Proud to make a difference!

🌟 It's Hard to Find Volunteers Right Now, But Why You Shouldn't Give Up! Despite these hurdles, it's crucial not to give up. Here’s why: Community Impact: Volunteers are the backbone of many community initiatives. Their efforts drive positive change, offering support and services that might otherwise be unavailable. Personal Growth: Volunteering is a two-way street. It provides individuals with skills, experiences, and a sense of purpose. Building Connections: It creates networks of like-minded individuals, fostering a sense of belonging and shared goals. Inspiration: Every volunteer story can inspire others to step up and make a difference.
