Surprising yet interesting results! I recently asked where you turn for reliable and evidence-based nutrition knowledge. I'm pleasantly surprised to see that a majority of you choose to go straight to the source - scientific studies! This is where the most credible and up-to-date information can be found. It's great to know that you're seeking out evidence-based knowledge to inform your decisions. However, I also want to address the other sources. Social media can be a breeding ground for misinformation, so be cautious and verify information through fact-checking websites or expert opinions. Online articles and blogs can be helpful, but make sure they're written by credible authors and based on scientific research. And, of course, consulting with nutrition professionals is always a great idea, they can provide personalized guidance and help you find your way through the latest research. In our next post we will share important factors to consider, when evaluating the credibility of nutrition information . Learn how to identify trustworthy resources and make informed decisions about your health. Don't miss it! #nutritioneducation #healthyliving

Fun nutrition science fact of the day: Protein intake is significantly associated with higher odds of healthy aging. (PMID: 38309825) In the study, which analyzed food intakes and health outcomes of almost 50,000 nurses from the 1980s to 2016, healthy aging was defined as being free from 11 chronic diseases, having good mental health, and not having physical or cognitive impairments. The association with healthy aging was greatest for protein from dairy and plants, but animal protein was favorable as well. Want to age healthily? Focus on protein. 💪🏽🤠

Must-read: This is how nutrition science works. Could ice cream be healthy? Data say ’yes', scientists say 'no'. Find a result that fits in hypothesis: accept. Find a result that does challenge hypothesis: do further digging. And dig. And dig. Then be silent and search for other narrative. https://lnkd.in/gTFD5Tuj
