World Malaria Day 2024! Every year on April 25th, World Malaria Day reminds us of the fight against this preventable mosquito-borne illness. Malaria infects over 200 million people globally each year, tragically taking the lives of an estimated 400,000 – many of them young children. But there's hope! How you can protect yourself and your loved ones while raising awareness for a malaria-free future: 📌 Prevent Mosquito Bites:  ⇒ Use insect repellent with DEET (a proven effective ingredient) on exposed skin when outdoors, especially at dusk and dawn when mosquitoes are most active. 📌 Sleep Under a Bed Net:  ⇒ When traveling to malaria-prone areas, use insecticide-treated mosquito nets over your bed, even if you're staying indoors. 📌 Wear Protective Clothing:  ⇒ Cover with long sleeves and pants, especially during peak mosquito hours. 📌 Stay Informed:  ⇒ Talk to your doctor before travelling to high-risk areas.  ⇒ They can advise you on specific prevention measures and prescribe antimalarial medication if needed. Early diagnosis and treatment are crucial.  Symptoms like fever, chills, headache, and muscle aches can appear weeks after a bite.  If you experience these symptoms after travel, please feel free to seek medical attention immediately. By taking these steps, you're not just protecting yourself, you're contributing to the fight against malaria. Share this information with friends and family, and advocate for increased research and resources to achieve a world free from this devastating disease. Together, we can make a difference! This is quite an issue especially if the environment is not clean. So make sure to keep the surroundings sanitized.

Consultation with your doctor is so important. As Indians we are all used to home remedies and DIYs but that can be harmful in some case.
