Patrick Lencioni once wrote a book talking about the three qualities that make the perfect team player. Do you agree? 🔪Humble: Being quick to share credit, praise others freely, and sometimes even forego credit due to them in the interest of celebrating the team’s collective win. 🔪Hungry: Being motivated, diligent, and having a strong desire to do more by going above and beyond. 🔪Smart (emotionally smart that is): These types of people exercise great judgment and intuition around the subtleties of group dynamics and are fully aware of the effect their words will have on the team. We look for these three qualities in all of our candidates AND clients! 📧founder@offyourplatehospitality.com #careers #HR #manager #chef #foodie #applytoday #culinary #restaurants #recruitment #jobsearch #hospitality #foodie #chef #restaurant #hospitalityjobs #hospitality #hiring #hospitalityindustry #restaurantjobs #nowhiring #jobhunt #chefjobs #hospitalitylife #recruitment #work #hospitalityrecruitment #hotels #hiringnow #recruiting

Calling all chefs and hospitality enthusiasts!📣 Lately, I've noticed something troubling happening in the industry, especially in prestigious places across the UK, including London. Many kitchens have lost their head chef and a big chunk of their team. Instead of hiring experienced chefs to keep things running smoothly, they've been opting for less experienced ones, often leaving just one Chef de Partie to manage everything. This makes me wonder: Is this a common issue elsewhere too? Now, don't get me wrong – I'm all for giving new talent a chance. But shouldn't we also value the knowledge that comes with experience? After all, it's the experienced chefs who maintain high standards and strive for top awards. Plus, they can pass down their expertise to the less experienced ones, paving the way for a brighter future in hospitality. So, what's your take on this? Have you seen similar situations in your workplace? Let's chat about finding the right balance between nurturing new talent and holding onto the seasoned pros. The kitchen is the heart of any good establishment, and it's essential to keep it strong and thriving! 💪🍽️ #Hospitality #Chef #ChefLife #FoodIndustry #LetsTalk

Debunking the Myth: Teamwork Trumps Extroversion in Restaurant Jobs! In the realm of restaurant jobs, there is a prevailing misconception that an outgoing personality is a prerequisite for success. However, the truth is quite the opposite. Teamwork reigns supreme over extroversion when it comes to thriving in the restaurant industry. It is those individuals who actively engage in communication with their colleagues and willingly contribute wherever necessary that prove to be the most valuable assets in any restaurant setting. While roles such as hosts and waitstaff may often attract more extroverted individuals, possessing a vibrant persona is not the be-all and end-all for achieving excellence. Instead, it is the meticulous attention to detail, the willingness to listen attentively, and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively that truly determine achievement in this field. #NorthDakota #SDjobs #SouthDakota #MTjobs #Montana #WYjobs #Wyoming #GeckoHospitality #WereHiring #LetGoAndLetGecko #GrowYourBusiness #Business #RecruitmentAgency #NowHiring #restaurant #foodservice #opportunity #hoteliers #hotelmanagement

Gourmet Guide to Hiring: The Referral Recipe in Restaurant Business" In the bustling kitchen of restaurant management, finding the right staff can be as delicate a task as perfecting a soufflé. Here's a secret ingredient you might not have thought of using: referrals. Yes, you read that right. Your existing team - managers, co-workers, chefs, bartenders, bussers, delivery drivers, and concierge staff - could be your ticket to landing the next superstar employee. But here's the cherry on top: don't just ask anyone for referrals. Seek out those who are reliable, hard-working, and embody the qualities that keep your restaurant sailing smoothly. After all, birds of a feather flock together. If a staff member is diligent and dedicated, chances are they associate with people who share the same work ethic. However, don't fret if the referral route doesn't pan out as expected. There's always more fish in the sea, or in this case, potential employees in the job market. You can always fall back on traditional hiring methods like interviews, or spice things up with incentives for new hires. Remember, in the restaurant business, variety is the spice of life. So, keep your options open and your hiring strategy flexible. #NorthDakota #SDjobs #SouthDakota #MTjobs #Montana #WYjobs #Wyoming #GeckoHospitality #WereHiring #LetGoAndLetGecko #GrowYourBusiness #Business #RecruitmentAgency #NowHiring #restaurant #foodservice #opportunity #hoteliers #hotelmanagement

I have always adopted a hands-on approach as a chef, regardless of the setting, motivated by my readiness to assist whenever needed and engage actively in kitchen activities. The excitement and fast pace of the culinary field captivated me and led me to pursue this career. Recently, I have observed a rise in the use of the term "hands-on chef" among hiring teams and recruiters. I have seized opportunities for self-improvement in various work settings, considering each placement as a chance to showcase my skills and enthusiasm. Let's explore the importance of being a "hands-on chef." In search of a 'Hands-On Chef' who must handle admin tasks, work like a Commis, but is offered minimal pay while being misled about the true state of your property that requires more than just an international chef. Your entire kitchen needs upgrading and staff training to reignite the passion. Realistically, you risk losing another skilled chef if your team, with over 20 years of experience, fails to embrace growth and new techniques. It's clear, you are expecting miracles in a place that requires much more than that. Attention, Chefs! Stay alert! You have every right to be honest and address issues that are unacceptable in the workplace. Best wishes, everyone! Case study: Restaurant General Manager Success Story: how we found the perfect General Manager The goal: Our main aim was to nab a General Manager who totally gets the clients restaurant's vibe and can lead the crew to victory. You know, someone who's all about people, the food, and giving guests the time of their lives. The challenge: Building a top-notch management team – General Manager, Deputy General Manager, and Assistant Manager. The team had potential, but they needed a confident, caring captain to steer the ship. The game plan: Here's how we tackled it: We stayed in the loop with the clients Recruitment and Operations Managers to really get what they were after. We dug into our huge database and picked out candidates who matched up: close to the site, loads of management experience, spoke Spanish, and a mix of big brand and indie restaurant backgrounds. But we didn't stop there! We got creative – ads went up, we kicked off some LinkedIn action, and scoured other job boards to find even more rockstars. We had a good chat with these amazing candidates, pulling out their standout achievements and what makes them tick. We made sure they'd slide right into our client’s world. The big win: Guess what? The very first candidate we showed them was spot on for the General Manager role! **disclaimer this is an anomaly but sometimes we get it right first time! And guess what else? They said yes just a little over 2 weeks after we started the hunt. In those first 10 days, we sent 7 General Manager contenders. Across all positions, we reached out to 13 folks we thought would shine. Interviews for the junior management crew are right around the corner... Max Wagner COREcruitment Ltd https://lnkd.in/e_8GxV-7
