While this client is undoubtedly “winning” (he got 13 orders to his new funnel in under 48 hours)... …WE (Ecommerce Empire Builders) are winning too. Why? Because when our clients win, WE win. This is something that the average “hater” who comments on our Facebook ads doesn’t understand. They say things like: “They don’t care if you’re successful as long as they get paid.” Wrong. Businesses that don’t care about their client’s success go OUT of business. Sure, they may sign up a few clients and make a quick buck. But just as “you can’t out-exercise a bad diet”... “You can’t out-advertise bad WORD OF MOUTH.” What I mean is… If your clients aren’t getting results, eventually, word will get out. Pretty soon, a simple Google search will reveal horror stories and customer complaints that discourage anyone who is seriously thinking about hiring you from doing so. This applies to: 1. Selling products. People buy from you again when they love their first experience. 2. Selling services. People keep renewing monthly plans when they're happy. 3. Employment. Companies often keep you around and give raises when you do good work. There's a lot of talk about getting clients, customers, and jobs. There's a lot less talk about keeping them. It's an essential piece of the pie, though. Master it, and scaling will be 10x easier. P.S. Want to sell your agency? Avoid these 4 million dollar mistakes: 1. Terms >>>>>>>>>>>>> Valuation Which would you choose: a. $6m over 3 years but you have to hit a number to get it. The number is not 100% your control. b. $1.5m right away. The answer is not obvious. Agencies can change very quickly. Don't risk what you've built on someone else's performance. 2. Hunt before you're burnt out The more deals you can look at, the better off you will be. It's an exhausting and time-consuming process. Once you're tired, it's too late. 3. Treat it like hiring Most likely you'll have to work with your acquirer for a while, and you won't be driving. When hiring, you should listen to the one tiny concern in your gut. That "they seem perfect...but" In my experience that "but" ends up taking over my agency and my life. Trust your gut. 4. Get a $$$$ (four dollar signs on Yelp) killer team "A bunch of SOPs and some VAs" is not a super appealing business, no matter how profitable it is on paper. My life turned around when I hired expensive people who could do the business building for me. They will keep it together during an acquisition. What would you add?

You can’t scale your agency because of THIS 1 little thing you haven’t heard of: “BACK-END UPSIDE”. A KPI on the back-end of your offer, that when you hit it, you get paid big bucks. Can be a rev-share, $500 per new sales call booked, etc. This does 2 things: 1 - Gives you the margin to hire a-players (You can’t scale with a $4/hour team from Sri Lanka - you need a-players) Having a KPI-based back-end upside opens up your margin to hire & pay these a-players well. 2 - Cuts the amount of work you do in half (Lean fulfillment = much easier to scale) 1 client at $8,000 a month is WAY more conducive to growth than 2 clients at $4,000 a month. You do the same work and make 2x as much. Make sense? Will you have to qualify prospects harder on the front-end? Yes. Will you have to turn some people away? 100%. But you’ll ACTUALLY finally scale this thing.

If I could tell my younger self just one advice, It would be this, Pricing matter - do it better. I have seen so many people that are so good, But don't trust themselves enough to price higher. If you can make them money, you deserve more money. Once you have few clients, Focus on serving them better And providing them more value. Then charge them more - don't be shy about this. Especially if you are from third world country, Stop being a monk and start thinking about buying the ferrari (It's a bad pun, I know) Quickest way to grow your revenue is higher pricing. Now - hiring pricing does mean you have do deliver on the service. But it also gives you more budget to deliver better. Bonus - Here's my example: Our SaaS's individual plan is set at $29/month. That's less than a $1 a day. And I know this tool provides more than enough value to do that. Just with content writing and engage, You can save upto 5 hours a week. Over a month, it could save you upto 20 hours. If your hour is worth just $5, than you have saved 100$ by spending $29.
