I bought a new goldfish… Over the last 2 weeks I really pressure tested the difference between a sunk cost and something worth additional investment. It’s been a valuable exercise and I’d encourage anyone assessing a personal relationship, an investment, a professional endeavor, or a strategic initiative to give it a try. Here are 3 things I wrestled with: 1) if additional investment was not possible, are opportunities now available interesting? 2) if you accounted for the incremental investment at the beginning, relative to the benefit, would you still start? 3) if you make the additional investment, and recognize there is a scenario where it still doesn’t work out, would you still make the investment?

Good money moves happening here despite the challenging environment. Any business that prioritizes on paying down debt gets a ✔ from me. Highlights: *R370mil profit after tax from sale of cold storage business used to settle term debt of R550mil in SA. *R28mil operational costs attributable to load shedding for local canning and fishmeal and fish oil units *Lucky Star's sales volume up 8% *Decent CAPEX plans in the pipeline. So far so good....

The Agreement initially provides Barrick with access to approximately 4,000 square kilometers of consolidated land positions throughout the country, with a favorable geological setting comparable to the Dominican Republic, where Barrick operates the Pueblo Viejo mine. Barrick will have the right to work with Geophysx to earn up to an 80% joint-venture interest in designated properties upon fulfillment of certain spending obligations and study-deliverable milestones. In the simulation, I: - Completed a job simulation focused on supporting a potential takeover offer for Latham & Watkins Mergers & Acquisitions team.  - Crafted a concise issues list highlighting changes and suggestions. - Recommended clauses for inclusion in disclosure schedules. - Reviewed client emails, identified concerns, and offered concise high-level advice while considering legal statutes. - Created a clear and brief PowerPoint slide to ensure quick comprehension of earn-out details for stakeholders.
