It’s 2024, there will be plenty of ad campaigns to be excited about! Time to remember that most of them won’t do their #1 job very well. Many will even sell category and competitor’s products/services rather than the ones they advertise. 💸 BEWARE OF THE EXECRABLE EIGHTIES! 💸 In that sense, 15 seconds of Calvin Klein underwear > 3 minutes of generational conflict-solving lamb. Failure to #brand is one of the three reasons #advertising frequently fails, according to Jenni Romaniuk (together with failure to reach, and failure to be buyable). PS: why is the Deep from The Boys holding a dead fish on my slide? Well, he’s execrable himself, and the whole fish thing makes more sense (sort of) in the context of the entire document ‘Entertainment Brands Eat Goldfish Attention Span for Breakfast: how brands can use stories, in a world where no one has time for ads’ linked in comments.
