Congratulations to the team Endeavour Mining on the first gold pour at the Lafigue mine in Cote d'Ivoire. This is a major accomplishment and the fifth mine the company has built and delivered on time and on budget in the last decade in West Africa, one of the premier gold-producing regions in the world. Anglo Asian Mining PLC (AIM:AAZ, OTC:AGXKF) said it has restarted mining at the Gedabek mine in Azerbaijan, with flotation operations to resume in the second quarter of this year. Production was halted during Autumn 2023 due to an environmental audit at its operations with an action plan agreed with the government in November. As a result of the disruption, output dropped to 31,821 gold equivalent ounces (57,618 GEOs) with 3,080 GEOs in the final quarter. Reza Vaziri, chief executive, commented he was pleased to hit the revised production target despite the challenges during the year. “We continue to make meaningful progress in restarting flotation production, which will begin from Q2 2024. Resource Mining Corporation Limited (ASX:RMI) director Trevor Matthews joins Proactive to discuss high-grade #copper #gold results from ongoing exploration at the #MpandaProject in Tanzania. Significant findings include rock chip samples with up to 6.97% copper and 17.97 g/t gold, and 6.93% copper with 6.54 g/t gold, collected from the Kabungu copper anomaly. Additionally, channel sampling at the Stalike anomaly showed promising results, including 1 metre at 2.3% copper, part of a 5-metre section averaging 1.13% copper. Two auger drill holes at Ndogo anomaly also indicated mineralised copper values, with samples including 1 metre at 0.20% and 0.21% copper. This supports the potential significant resource, as the copper anomaly extends over 5 kilometres along strike. Argonaut recently released a research report on Wia Gold, providing an updated mining scenario for Kokoseb, incorporating our recent drilling. “Argonaut’s updated mining inventory for Kokoseb totals 39Mt at a diluted head grade of 1.2g/t Au for a total of 1.49Moz. Kokoseb is still in the discovery drill out phase – we estimate a minimum 20-30% increase to this mining inventory based on unconstrained economic drill intercepts. Argonaut models a largescale open pit development scenario for Kokoseb with 172Koz/pa operation over an 8- year mine life with estimated production commencing mid-CY28. In the first five years of production, our mining inventory includes an average mined grade of 1.34g/t Au with a 6.2 strip ratio. This enables low ASIC of A$1409/oz and provides a short payback period on capital invested. Our base case assumes a 5Mtpa processing plant that maximises NPV and to utilise additional mining inventory as Kokoseb grows. Caledonia Mining (CMCL) made a good comeback in the second half of the year to produce 75,416oz gold at Blanket in 2023, says broker Cavendish. Fourth quarter production from Blanket was 20,172oz. Guidance for the current year, 2024, of 74,000- 78,000oz is 2,000oz than the broker forecast due to lower margin areas being removed from the mine plan. “We feel this is prudent as the economics become more robust as the company completes its capital programme at Blanket with a new tailings storage facility and further underground development,” #Cavendish added. Strategy for the Bilboes #sulphide project should be decided this quarter and will include an update on the existing feasibility study for a 170,000oz/pa of #gold project and work on an alternative phased approach. Silver X Mining Corp (TSX-V:AGX, OTC:WRPSF) announced that it achieved steady production during the fourth quarter at its Nueva Recuperada #silver-#gold-#zinc-#lead property in Peru. The company restarted operations at the mine on September 19, 2023, and during the fourth quarter, it processed 354,205 ounces of silver equivalent, a 193% increase sequentially. Production was 292,380 ounces of silver equivalent, down slightly from 302,386 ounces of silver equivalent in the year-ago quarter. The company continues to ramp up production at the project in tandem with infill activities and cost reduction strategies, it highlighted. Silver X Mining Corp (TSX-V:AGX, OTC:WRPSF) has released operational results for the third quarter ending 30 September 2023. The third quarter processing total from Silver X’s operations in Peru amounted to 120,915 ounces of silver equivalent, and followed the temporary halt of operations in July and August 2023. Monthly metal throughput is currently back to the levels processed in the third and fourth quarters of 2022, before the temporary halt of operations. Since the previous update on 19 September, the company has processed 230,444 ounces of silver equivalent in just 45 days, with an average head grade of 304.25 grams of silver equivalent. The company processed 90,303 ounces of silver equivalent in in September 2023 and 140,050 ounces in October 2023. “We are very satisfied with the restart of production at Nueva Recuperada,” said José García, chief executive of Silver X.
