Planning a church event? Let's make it smooth and memorable! Here’s a few friendly tips to help you out: 👀 Start with a Clear Vision: Define what your event is all about. Is it a fundraiser, outreach, or just a fun get-together? Understanding the “why” behind the event helps guide decisions throughout the planning process. ⌛ Create a Detailed Timeline: Map out every step from the first idea to the final cleanup. Include checkpoints for promotion, volunteer recruitment, logistics, and follow-up activities. Having a timeline keeps things organized and stress-free. 📲 Promote the Event: Effective promotion is crucial. Spread the word using multiple channels like- social media, church bulletins, church app, text messages, signage, and emails. Make sure your messaging highlights why folks should come and has a consistent tone. 🤝 Engage Volunteers Early: Volunteers are the lifeblood of church events. Get them involved early, and make sure they know their roles and feel appreciated. ✅ Nail the Logistics: Smooth logistics contribute to a positive attendee experience. Think about everything from venue setup to parking and technical needs. Plan for any hiccups to keep things running smoothly. Ready to plan an unforgettable event? Let’s connect and swap ideas! #ChurchEvents #CommunityBuilding #EventPlanning #ChurchLeadership

Building a community is like raising a child. You never forget the milestones. Here are 5 community marketing milestones to celebrate: 1. 100 active members Babies take 2 weeks to grasp an object. How long did it take for someone to grasp your community? 2. First self-generated content When your community creates content for you, you know you're doing something right. 3. Common hashtags/catchphrases When your community invents its own language, that's amazing. 4. Successful meet-ups People online are great, but actually meeting them in person solidifies the relationship. Bonus points here when the community itself organizes. 5. Sponsorships/partnerships When brands want to work with your community, that's when you know you've achieved sustained success. These are just a few of the big moments that can happen to your community. Have you experienced any? I'm here at your service if you want to jam on how you can hit these milestones. Just shoot me a message.

Breaking news: tomorrow Friday May 10 at 1 PM PDT (4 PM EDT), we are having our inaugural "Corporate Giving Chat Fest". While we hope to do these in person in the future, the event tomorrow will be virtual. It's free and all we do for one hour is talk about anything and everything Corporate Giving, Sponsorships, Employee Volunteerism, Corporate Foundations etc etc. Join us. Here's the link. https://lnkd.in/gZ4kt3CQ Just two rules: 1. you share your name and organization and 2.) you participate by asking questions, sharing your experiences which means we can see your smiling face. See you tomorrow and for those on the east coast, I bet there's a cold beer or glass of wine that you'd like to bring to the meeting. :) It's almost 5 o'clock.

Let's continue the Volunteer Appreciation topic with more ideas! As noted last week, acknowledging and recognizing the volunteers of your community or organization needs to be constant. Consider these ways: - List volunteers in the community newsletter - Acknowledge a committee or particular volunteer at a Board meeting - Hold a volunteer appreciation event - Hang photos of the volunteers in the clubhouse - Highlight the work and time with photos and videos at the annual meeting What other ways do you acknowledge your volunteers? #tiptuesday #volunteerappreciationmonth
