Following the historic 75,000-person March to End Fossil Fuels in New York City in September, youth #climate and #environmentaljustice leaders gathered in Portland, Oregon, for the first-ever national Youth vs. Fossil Fuels Convergence in early November. The Center for Biological Diversity hosted 75 youth leaders who participated in workshops and panels to build leadership skills, network with peers, and share strategies for challenging fossil fuel expansion. Great to see such support for movement building of youth organizers to grow their networks and capacity! #nextgenerationleaders #environmentaljustice Image of youth leaders who gathered to build on the September historic march to end fossil fuels. The Higher Education community is #StrongerTogether! This year, I am leading the EURASHE Leadership Forum on 23 May, following the 33rd Annual Conference ‘Stronger Together – Fostering Transnational Cooperation in Applied Universities’ in FH St. Pölten – University of Applied Sciences, Austria. I'm looking forward to working with a select group of university leaders to explore the dynamics of transnational cooperation. Our discussions will explore questions such as: - Transnational and trans-institutional learning for regional engagement: How can university leaders use transnational cooperation to strengthen institutional engagement with regional challenges? - Strategic reflection on barriers to cooperation: What are the organisational challenges to effective transnational cooperation and what can university leaders do to overcome them? - Peer learning among university leaders: How can university leaders support each other in meeting the challenges of internal, regional and European engagement?
