Every child deserves a chance to thrive, no matter where they are born. Today, I want to share the story of a resilient child in Africa who, despite facing poverty and oppression, is striving for a better future. 🌍This child, like many others, dreams of going to school, having enough to eat, and living a life free from fear. But, these basic rights are often denied due to circumstances beyond their control. We have the power to change this. By providing access to education, healthcare, and necessities, we can help break the cycle of poverty and give these children the future they deserve. 🎓🍎🏥Let’s stand together to make a difference. Your support can transform a life and create a ripple effect that will impact generations to come. Remember, every child matters, and every action counts. ❤️Read more about ColourRise Inc.'s goals at our Link in Bio. #EveryChildMatters #AccessToEducation #FutureGenerations #TransformALife #MakeADifference #BreakTheCycle #EndChildPoverty #EducationForAll #ChangeALife #FAZZA #Faz3

66% of child trafficking victims are girls. 💔 (Save the Children, 2020) Many girls around the world are forced to drop out of school or are denied access to income-generating opportunities. This social exclusion traps them in a cycle of extreme poverty and increases their vulnerability to trafficking and exploitation. 🌍 The lack of education not only limits their lifetime earning potential but also perpetuates poverty for future generations. At Fight For The One, we are committed to breaking this cycle and protecting the most vulnerable. Join us in making a difference. ✨ Visit our website to learn how we're making a difference and join the fight: https://lnkd.in/e4iXx2X7

To honor #WorldChildrensDay, we asked young people what they would want leaders to consider to create a better, safer world for children. Sneha, a National Youth Council Member at UNICEF USA, asks CEOs and leaders to acknowledge the impacts of child poverty on education, health and development. She asks them to invest more in children and to give them opportunities to raise their voices — opportunities they deserve. #WCD2023

Education can break the cycle of poverty and give children a brighter future, yet 1 in 10 children worldwide are currently out of school. Street Child is working to change that. First, we ensure that children are safe, especially from risks that keep them from accessing an education. Then we get children back into school by supporting enrolment and livelihoods for their families. Finally, we improve the quality of education so that children can actually learn when they're at school! Corporate partners are critical to our work, enabling us to reach more children in need. Children in London need you! In the UK, the stark reality of child poverty affects millions, with 4.3 million children living in poverty. For children growing up in poverty, the absence of basic necessities can lead to heightened anxiety, feelings of shame, and low mood. Those who experience shame may isolate themselves, hide their true selves, and internalise the belief that they are the problem. To better understand the emotional landscape of these children, we surveyed a classroom of 10-11-year-olds about their feelings over the past week. The results were telling: - 73% of children felt worried about something. - 70% experienced problems sleeping. - 64% believed that good things would never happen to them in their lives. - 64% felt shy in the school environment. We extend our heartfelt thanks to all who supported our tutoring (inspirational-focused delivery) and nutrition programs during the 2023-24 academic year. Your contributions have played a vital role in alleviating the burden on disadvantaged families, ensuring that children have the resources they need to thrive both academically and emotionally. Join us, and together we can work towards creating a society where children are defined by potential not circumstance. 💙

08 February 2024 SONA24 and Poverty sickens me today, even without the EFF- Naked Reflections with Tarryn Bell Today, the profound forms of Poverty in Delft, 'Die Baai' (PE), Queenstown, ElsiesRiver, Belhar, and Mitchell's Plain flattened me AGAIN. We interviewed close to 60 young people between the ages of 15 and 30, out of school, not in employment, and unemployed (YOUTH NEETs) . These young people, the face of South Africa now all found in Delft. Gangs, GBV, profound poverty, unbelievable trauma, homelessness, Healthcare, violence and fear. What did this flippency and foolish laughter mean for us tomorrow. It is so terribly disheartening listening to our President this evening. SONA lacks critical data on critical issues affecting our communities. There's a noticeable absence of personal narratives that could resonate with children, youth, and the middle class living in Delft. A failing education system, that continues to hold our people in bondage. The political rhetoric is hollow and devoid of genuine concern for our people . It fails to reflect the integrity and empathy needed to address our nation's pressing hearfelt issues. Instead, it resembles such arrogance, far removed from what is going on. Mr. President, as you address the nation, it's essential to acknowledge the patience and hopefulness of our people over the past three decades. Yet, your speech focuses on matters deemed "underway," which should have long been part of our basic infrastructure – from addressing potholes, sanitation, and housing to ensuring the safety of the people on the CapeFlats. The glaring reality of corruption and incompetence has cost lives and deepened our societal wounds - the wounds of our past. Let this be the ANCs farewell speech, it sounded like one. What a sad day! #ItsTimetoVote #SONA #BRICS #CapeFlats #WesternCape #EasternCape #SouthAfrica #ZA #CyrilRamaphosa #Ramaphosa #MrPresident #Queenstown, #ElsiesRiver, #Belhar #EFF, #MitchellsPlain #SONA #EasternCape #womenempowerment #economicdevelopment
