The data on Alzheimer’s disease in Black communities is stark: the risk is higher than average, but the rate of diagnosis is delayed. To address that, several University of Pittsburgh researchers from different departments, including CRSP's Director Dr. Kyaien Conner, are partnering with the Allegheny County Health Department and the Black Equity Coalition (BEC) in a new interdisciplinary effort titled "The Brain and Cognitive Health Equity Campaign for Allegheny County". Check out the article below to learn more about Dr. Kyaien Conner's work to transform Alzheimer's care in Black communities. Full article: https://ow.ly/mLUR50UuBY7

Payers should be prepared for the wave of patients coming and open up resources to keep them aging in place with a caregiver at home. This is where I’d like to see more innovation and learning. The Alzheimers initiative for payers is a great use case for machine learning and prediction using data made accessible via Patent Access API for operational use cases to inform future management of the Alzheimers wave predicted to spike in 2025 (reported by CNN nearly 5 years ago). The time has come, payers and providers should be prepared and properly reimbursed for serving these vulnerable populations. These patents are excluded from Quality measurement, but the financial burden of not following this population will be huge if organizations don’t get ahead of it now.
Molina Healthcare is a proud supporter of the 2024 Unforgettable Tour, which is presented by the Alzheimer’s Association to raise awareness about Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia in underserved communities. The goal of the production is to draw more attention to the benefits of early diagnosis and treatment for a disease that affects nearly 7 million Americans, with a disproportionate impact on communities of color. TCI GALLERY SPRING 2024 THEMES: TENRI.org CRYPTOCURRENCY CAPITALISM'S BEST*END HOMELESS. WONDERMIND: CRYPTO-FINANCE & WHAT'S ON THE TABLE. MR. MS. TEEFEY & SELENA GOMEZ-RARE-SUPERSTAR. I ABSOLUTELY SEE NOTHING WRONG WITH CRYPTOCURRENCY. I CAN UNDERSTAND WHY THE INFANT DEMOCRATIC-CAPITALISTIC MINDS OF TODAY BLAME THE USA GOVERNMENT. THAT SAID THEN IS ANY GOVERNMENT TO BE BLAMED FOR THE HOMELESS PROBLEMS PLAGUING THE WORLD.?... NO. GOD KNOWS ALL THE HEADACHES USA GOVERNMENT HAVE WITH THE FOREIGN AFFAIRS. THE NEW WORLD IS PRACTICALLY A SHOCK TO WITNESS. PEOPLE "ONLY WORKING" TOGETHER FOR A COMMON GOAL... "IN THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS." THUS DOESN'T THAT ALSO INCLUDE THE HOMELESS. THE HOMELESS ARE OUT THERE... ARE YOU.? HOMELESS A OPPORTUNITY MISUNDERSTOOD..... The modern economic system is a market economy, which is a capitalist economy where people, not the government--NOT THE GOVERNMENT--own most businesses. In a capitalist economy, prices allocate capital and labor between competing uses, and capital assets like factories, mines, and railroads can be privately owned and controlled. https://lnkd.in/eB98Jnv9 GOOGLE. EXAMPLE, IF YOU NEED TO RAISE MONEY FOR ANY REASON OR MORE SO LETS SAY THE "HOMELESS" PROBLEM WHICH IS BELIEVED TO BE TIME & MONEY CONSUMING BUT IN ONE DIRECTION TOWARD THE HOMELESS. HOWEVER CRYPTOCURRENCY CAN POSSIBLE ALLOWS AN EXPENDITURE OF CURRENCY TO BENEFIT ALL WHO USES THE CRYPTO & REGARDLESS OF HOW IT'S CONSUMED. THEREFORE IF A CRYPTO "HOMELESS" CURRENCY EXISTED IT'S MORE HIGHLY LIKELY THAT THE HOMELESS PROBLEM CAN BE VANQUISHED BECAUSE CURRENCY-FINANCES IT'S ALWAYS AVAILABLE TO BE TAPPED INTO FOR HOMELESS RESOLUTIONS. Hanna Svanback, our Head of Neuroscience for Northern Europe, recently spoke at the New Statesman’s Future of Healthcare Conference on tackling the health challenges that come with an ageing population. She was joined by representatives from government, parliament, and the third sector. It was great to hear the debate focus in on how we can all work together to detect, diagnose, and manage dementia and Alzheimer’s disease more effectively. Hanna shared “We are calling for the NHS, government, and industry to work in partnership to implement a pathway for Alzheimer’s disease that gives people access to a timely and accurate diagnosis, and the right care and support.” At Lilly, we have invested in research and development in this field for over three decades and are deeply committed to our partnerships to rethink what is possible in Alzheimer’s disease and ultimately pave the way for a better future for patients. #WeAreLillyUKandIreland

While there is still no cure for Alzheimer's, there's hope in prevention. On last night's CBS4 Miami's special, Illuminating Alzheimer's, Lauren Pastrana interviewed Dr Agronin, Chief Medical Officer of the Frank C. and Lynn Scaduto MIND Institute at Miami Jewish Health, about our Alzheimer’s Prevention Program. Designed to keep aging minds sharp participants like Charles and Jacqueline James, who were also featured, decided to take a proactive approach with their cognitive health by joining the program. Dr. Agronin explains, “Prevention is a new buzzword. We know from research that about 40% of risk factors can be modified. Even though you can’t change your genes, there’s so much more we can do to identify and reduce these risk factors.” Watch the full story here: https://lnkd.in/eMgcCXkH (https://lnkd.in/eMgcCXkH) #AlzheimersAwareness #BrainHealth #Prevention #HealthyAging #MiamiJewishHealth #FrankCandLynnScadutoMINDInstitute #LiveLifeBetter

Juneteenth reminds me of the ongoing fight for freedom and equality. In Alzheimer's care, this means addressing disparities affecting underserved communities, particularly those of African descent. Historically, these communities lack access to resources, awareness, and care for Alzheimer’s disease, reflecting systemic inequities. We can bridge these gaps by connecting underserved communities with care options and ensuring new advances reach these communities. As we move toward precision medicine, it is crucial to include diverse populations in clinical research to ensure findings are representative of the U.S. population, especially those bearing a disproportionate burden of these diseases. The scientific community must be accountable for ensuring our research represents all Americans. We must elevate voices and perspectives that challenge exclusionary systems, bringing us closer to a healthier future.
