Yesterday marked the successful kick-off of the 7th annual UK EV SUMMIT, where industry thought leaders gathered to discuss key challenges and opportunities in the electric vehicle market. Keynote speaker Matt Galvin, Managing Director of Polestar, brought humour to the stage as he tackled the topic of range anxiety and discussed the dynamics of incentives in the UK EV market from the perspective of an EV manufacturer. Insights from Marc Palmer of Auto Trader UK and Vicky Read of ChargeUK shed light on the evolving market and infrastructure, stressing the importance of bridging the gap between reality and perception regarding range anxiety. Throughout the event, there was a strong focus on educating potential buyers and improving as well as standardising payment and charger technology reliability to build confidence among EV users. The discussions also delved into the opportunities and challenges presented by the US market for UK businesses. Gurjeet Grewal, COO at Octopus Electric Vehicles, emphasised the diverse landscape and the need for UK businesses to adapt to the different target markets within the US, whilst Toddington Harper, CEO of GRIDSERVE , underscored the significant role of the US in driving global progress on climate change. Overall, the summit underscored the importance of partnership, data sharing, and learning from different industries to propel the EV market forward. Adapting well-working technologies and customer experiences and moving towards open systems were highlighted as critical steps towards success. A big thank you to Green.TV Media, Auto Trader UK, and all the fantastic panel and keynote speakers for a phenomenal day in Oxford. If you are exploring expansion opportunities in the US market, reach out to us. We can help you introduce your innovative EVs to US clients, offering consultation on transportation options, local regulations, and customs charges to ensure a seamless entry into the market. Let's work together to drive the future of sustainable transportation. #EVsummit #partnership #USmarketexpansion

The Belgian EV market by numbers.... Clearly huge growth is anticipated for this industry over the next few years tying in with an increased focus on increasing sustainability in general day to day life. Perhaps it is a slightly more subjective measure, but I can say for sure I've seen an increased demand in staffing (particularly in R&D and production departments) from our clients in this industry in the last 6-12 months, which is always a good indicator of a growing industry. #ElectricVehicles #Engineering #EngineeringJobs #EVMarket

🚗 The „Deutschlandnetz“: An Important Step for E-Mobility 🚗 I am thrilled to welcome the recently launched campaign "Das #Deutschlandnetz ist da" by Federal Transport Minister Volker Wissing. This initiative, which aims to create over 9,000 additional charging points at more than 1,000 locations nationwide by 2026, is an important signal for the future of #electromobility in Germany. ⚡️ 🔋 Key Aspects of the Campaign: 🛠️ More Charging Infrastructure: The creation of 9,000 additional charging points will reduce range anxiety and boost confidence in #electricvehicles. 🌍 Nationwide Coverage: By distributing these #charging points across over 1,000 locations, more comprehensive coverage is ensured. 🚀 Support for E-Mobility: This initiative not only supports current e-car drivers but also promotes acceptance and the transition to #emobility. As someone who has been driving a BEV (Battery Electric Vehicle) for over 10 years, I am deeply passionate about the potential of electric mobility. For me, it's about making a real difference. Harnessing renewable energy for driving reduces our reliance on fossil fuels and enhances energy independence. 🌱And it’s not just about environmental benefits—it's also about embracing innovation and progress. It's extremely exciting to see what's happening right now and how digitalization, technology and new, innovative solutions are supporting us in driving the future of mobility. 🚀 #AudiBusinessInnovation #FutureOfMobility #Cars #Sustainability #Innovation

How to make money with your Car? V2C – Vehicle to Coffee – is one way 🤣 At last week's E-nova Mobility Experience, we served our guests free coffee, powered by the "Vehicle-to-Load" feature from our smart #3 BRABUS. It was a great way to spark conversations with the visitors about e-mobility. But the potential goes far beyond that... Imagine charging your electric car’s battery during low-demand times when electricity is cheap, then using that stored energy during peak demand when prices are high (Vehicle-to-Home). Or, selling it back to the grid during high-demand times (Vehicle-to-Grid). If all vehicles in Switzerland were electric, we would have over 400 million kWh of storage capacity – for comparison, the Grimsel dam, one of Switzerland's largest, holds 263 million kWh. And the best part? We wouldn’t need to invest in new infrastructure, as the cars are anyway here... The future is electric. ⚡ smart Europe GmbH sun2wheel AG NZZ Sustainable Switzerland echowerk gmbh Kenny's Auto-Center AG #EV #SmartEnergy #Sustainability #V2G #VehicleToGrid #ElectricFuture

Ayvens recently released the latest edition of its Mobility Guide, offering a detailed country-by-country analysis of the pace of electrification. This guide evaluates 47 countries based on three levels of EV maturity: Developed, Transitioning, and Emerging. >> Western and Northern Europe lead in EV adoption, with Norway, the Netherlands, and Finland scoring highest in facilitating EV use. The number of European countries in the "Developed" category has increased to 13, reflecting broader EV adoption and a diverse range of available powertrains. >> 20 countries now offer over 100 different BEV models, including new launches like the Citroen eC3, Renault 5, and Volvo EX30. The Netherlands tops the ranking for charging infrastructure, followed by Norway and Austria. However, countries like Australia, Ireland, and Poland face challenges with their infrastructure development lagging behind EV adoption rates. >> The BEV TCO trend has reversed in some EU markets. While BEV TCO remains competitive in 13 European countries, it has increased compared to internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles in others due to the end of subsidies and rising energy costs. In the UK and Austria, BEV TCO has reached parity with ICE vehicles. >> EV adoption faces hurdles such as price volatility, evolving TCO, geopolitical tensions, changing regulations, and new taxation rules. Despite these challenges, regulatory initiatives like the European Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Regulation (AFIR) are accelerating infrastructure development and EV adoption. >> The Ayvens Mobility Guide 2024 provides essential insights for fleet managers, highlighting the importance of continued investment in EV infrastructure, supportive regulations, and a diverse range of EV models. As the EV market evolves, this guide is a valuable tool for navigating the path towards sustainable mobility. Source: Ayvens #electricvehicles #electricvehicle #evcharging
